Why is "Oh they are just jealous of you" the answer to EVERYTHING...!!

I can't remember how this came up but I suddenly thought yesterday - "She's just jealous of you" is always brought up as the reason for almost everything...

I have been bullied out of a couple of jobs, I was bullied as a child and as a teenager - any time I talk about any of this to my friends its always "Oh Angel, they are just jealous of you..."

No they aren't....!! No-one has EVER been jealous of me...I'm the most mundane person ever and until recently I was hugely overweight. There is no-one in this world who would think "Gads, I so want to BE Bathsheba"...

Its something that always seems to be brought out when one woman is having any sort of problems with another woman - the trusted friends always say "Its just because they are jealous of you"..

I honestly only know 1 person in this world that I am truly jealous of, and thats one of my closest friends...and I'm never nasty to her because I want her house/husband/lifestyle...I love her loads..!!

Sometimes its just because women are witches, its sometimes just because people don't LIKE each other, its sometimes because people have little in their lives and can fret about things that don't matter to others...but I genuinely think that very few interpersonal problems are actually cuased by one person being eaten up with jealousy...

Very astute of you Bathsheba but you are wrong! Everyone who has ever been nasty to me has been jealous I guess that us women find it hard to say 'Yes, they were nasty to you because you're fat/ugly/spotty/whatever but we love you anyway' so we do the whole 'she's jealous' thing.

I've got a friend who lives in a house pretty much exactly the same as mine and I'm jealous of her house! Cant explain it, it just always seems calmer lol
Its the attitude and general happiness people are normally jealous of, not what people actually have or look like iyswim

But people aren't necessarily jealous of what you look like, or what you have. They may simply be jealous of your happiness, stability and the friends you have.
