Just been at a meeting (no one here's paid for it) with some other HA Residents. Amongst them we had a Uni art lecturer, another artist, a gold medalist in javelin who trained some of today's Olympians, a professional writer, trying to remember the other professions. It struck me after this thread that all the people there had come from "good" jobs. One lady was giving up he only day off to be there.

I've just remembered something actually, one of my eldest DDs boyfriends was given a council flat, he was a single guy of 20. It was a one bedroom flat, i think he was living with his brother previous to that - anyway, it fizzled out, but i have just remembered he had just got a job as a bin man - maybe she should look him up, he might have a flash car by now.

we live in a HA house. We had a new car. Because DH inherited money from losing both his nans in the space of 6 months. I am fed up of people saying 'oh you must be doing alright' when they see our car. Really f*cks me off to be honest!
