Aibu to leave my 13 year old daughter from 5.45pm- 9pm on a Saturday night? Id get back to tuck her in to bed.

She has been left for this length of time before but usually earlier in the day, she is year 8 just turned 13

fine if she's happy.

if you're not contactable (say in the theatre) it would be good to have a think about who she could ring (a neighbour or a mate's mum?) if there's any problems.

Zero support network but phones obviously. I think she will be gaming with friends to be honest so won't mind. Im also taking her out in the day with a friend for a treat so will be tired and wanting to chill

I'd do it as a one off but not as a regular thing where someone could learn its the routine. I'd also want to have a plan in place with her if something happened like if the door went or she got scared etc. Like if there's a neighbour or relative who lives close by she could ring in an emergency who'll be home at that time?

I’d be fine with this for my year 8 as long as he was happy too (which he would be as it’d be uninterrupted Xbox time!)

That seems fine to me. I have a Y8 DD, we left her from 7 til 11 to go to a concert (only up thd road though) in July.

I would have last year when my dd was year 8, as long as she was happy with it.

I wouldn't even think twice. My 13 year old doesn't want to come anywhere with us so I just leave him to it.

Is it every Saturday or a one off? I have a year 8 and don't think I'd do this regularly. Maybe as a one off.

What does she think ? What support network do you have around, ie do you know a neighbour that she could message or go to if suddenly scared ? How far away would you be ?
at this age I think it depend s on the individual child really. My eldest was happy but my younger one gets scared at night if by self.

Can you ask her what she thinks?
my kids would have been fine with that.
