Is there something you want but just can’t bear to buy?

I’ve posted before about how I am a self confessed shopping addict. I’ve put myself on a semi ban, and I’m allowed to buy necessities for myself or replace makeup items that have ran out but I am not to buy things just because I want them. I have saved almost £1000 in a month, which is frightening! The big “f**k it” purchases (maybe £300) combined with impulsively buying makeup, a new top here and there, chocolate, extra luxuries in grocery shop REALLY mounted up. So last night (I had been drinking) I ALMOST fell into the trap and bought myself a very expensive pair of trainers. I didn’t give in and I still haven’t. The guilt of spoiling how well I’ve done and how much I’ve saved would stop me even enjoying them. I’ll just stick to admiring them from afar. Are there any items you lust after, and technically could afford, but just can’t justify buying?

Dental implants for a couple of missing molars.

Mulberry bag (oversized Alexa, tan, just in case anyone wants to buy me a gift Wink)

Le Chameau leather lined wellies

I may treat myself to the wellies when I've had my knee replaced, which could be quite soon now.

@Boulshired

I have been saving for eyelid surgery as I have one droopy eyelid, wouldn’t bother me if it was both as at least it would be equal. I now have the money but it just feels wrong to spend the money on it so am making do with eyelid stickers to stop my face looking like I have had a stroke. I’d also like a dyson air wrap

I came in to say exactly this @Boulshired, although I haven't tried the stickers!

I'm now considering non-surgical blepharoplasty though. Much cheaper and less invasive than actual surgery, although I'm sure I'll still feel guilty over spending the money, even if it's only £500 rather than £5000!

@silverbubbles now that one makes the Wilveely look like a bargain and a very sensible choice! In my alternative life where I live on a country estate with labradors and sweeping lawns I will buy on or other of them for sure.

A OneWheel, because it’s £1000 and not legal to ride on public roads yet.
@silverbubbles I’m late to this thread but do it! I got this one and love it www.manomano.co.uk/p/outsunny-3-seater-patio-metal-swing-chair-1930430

After spending all of last year yearning for one of these which look completely wonderful but are insanely expensive and would have been destroyed by London foxes. www.wilverley.com/garden-swing-seats

I paid £300 for the outsunny one at the time and it was definitely worth it.
I love the Wilverley but have been really hankering after www.oddlimited.com/rocker.php for about 10 years now......

On 2 occasions I have done the right thing and spent the money on more appropriate household renovations etc but one day my time will come!!!

A Victorian greenhouse. I am buying myself a big standard greenhouse because it will do the job perfectly well but I so want a Victorian one because they are so beautiful to look at (for me anyway)

I can’t justify the extra cost because I like the aesthetic, no matter how my I would use, I wouldn’t use it more just because it looks pretty. Soo so pretty.

Fun fact. I was working with someone and we arranged for a nice Turner print to be framed and given out to some top tier customers at an event.

I mentioned it to this colleague about how lovely the painting was. He looked and said yes it is - I have it in my living room (he meant the original).

Correction: the painting went for $47.5 million at auction.

The painting of The Fighting Temeraire, the ship that was the heroine of the Battle of Trafalgar, tugged to her last berth to be broken up in 1838. Painted by Turner, it hangs in the National Gallery. Turner called this painting “His darling” and never parted with it and kept it until he died. It went for $47.5 at auction.

I'd love a bladeless fan, but a) they're expensive and b) how often do you need a fan in England?

Literally hundreds of things - it’s a constant battle most days.

 • A grey Range Rover Sport (thirsty)
 • Maldives holiday (family will find it boring)
 • a Winter Vase by Lindstrad (it’s a vase!)
 • The new Ifor Williams horse trailer (I need the RR to tow it with)
 • Durberry boots (Dublin ones are half the price)
 • Dyson hot & cold fan (it’s still freezing)

I bought my Le Creuset when it was half price for £60. I did not want to pay £120 so I waited for the sales…..and yes.. TKmaxx is marvellous for getting a bargain.
