Hands up, I am a boring person.
My life is a bit dull and I don't really do many interesting things on a daily basis. My dh is nice and normal, my dc are lovely and have no health problems and my family are on the right side of crazy. We have a boring car, go on boring holidays and have boring friends (whom I love, btw!).

So what??

If I want to post a thread asking how to get stains out of my Le Creuset, I am bl**dy well going to do it no matter what anyone says. If I had a more interesting life then I might ask advice on getting bodily fluids out of sequins thongs, but I buy mine from M&S and they are machine washable at 40 degrees.

I know that there are so many people on MN who have really difficult things to overcome and who are still nice, friendly and helpful to us boring posters. That is how it should be I think. And F*ck you if you don't agree

Being Boring

If you ask me 'What's new?', I have nothing to say
Except that the garden is growing.
I had a slight cold but it's better today.
I'm content with the way things are going.
Yes, he is the same as he usually is,
Still eating and sleeping and snoring.
I get on with my work. He gets on with his.
I know this is all very boring.

There was drama enough in my turbulent past:
Tears and passion-I've used up a tankful.
No news is good news, and long may it last,
If nothing much happens, I'm thankful.
A happier cabbage you never did see,
My vegetable spirits are soaring.
If you're after excitement, steer well clear of me.
I want to go on being boring.

I don't go to parties. Well, what are they for,
If you don't need to find a new lover?
You drink and you listen and drink a bit more
And you take the next day to recover.
Someone to stay home with was all my desire
And, now that I've found a safe mooring,
I've just one ambition in life: I aspire
To go on and on being boring.

-- Wendy Cope

This is honest to god, my favourite poem, i am definately aspiring to that sort of boredom after a rough couple of years

You'd get on well with my DP talulasmum, he loves massive attack/muse and linkin park, I'm more of a libertines girl myself. Seeing babyshambles in november and cannot wait, although I'll have to be sover as will be 6 months preggers!! Bloody gigs, was sober when we went to see Lostprophets in april too, cos DP drove.

actually, im not really into keane, think their borderline shite, but "this is the last time" is a good song, down load it onto your ipod and listen. coldplay are rubbish agree. im more into muse, massive attack, but also think linkin park are awesome. im also london born and bred, but that doesnt mean i dont think about lonely women in scotland.

MMM, biscuits. I actually ate frosting out of the tub the other day. I almost vomitted, so i do not recommend it to any of you. I saw it in Waitrose and I thought it was the perfect solution to my laziness over making dd a birthday cake. I can do the cake, but I cannot do frosting. So I buy the tub and end up eating 2 spoonfuls of it. How disgusting is that??

I will hang my head in shame while you all judge me.

he's been a &*(% all week and instead of whining shouting or moaning I've just upped the ante each day by doing more work (don't shoot me down til I get to the good bit - I'm no doormat). Last night i practically collapsed with exhaustion (In seriousness i've had nasty nasty cold which historically have put me in hospital). He gor very very worried and felt really rather guilty. Hence credit card, bottle of wine, fry up (mmmm next time fry up in le creuset!!!) many many cuddles and the biscuit tin is firmly in MY lap!!! (I may even get lucky tonight!)

ooo misty, go you!!!
Put a rechargeable battery in the toaster, then turn it on, it will fuse your house and blow the toaster, then you can say you dont know what happened, since the house fused the toaster has stopped working, DH will think it was just the electrics in the toaster.
Btw, I know this from experience, DS did it to our toaster, little shit!
