“Equal justice under the law must mean every American receives equal treatment in every encounter with law enforcement regardless of race, color, gender or creed. They have to receive fair treatment from law enforcement.”
The president then appeared to veer from his prepared remarks, saying, “We all saw what happened last week. We can’t let that happen. Hopefully George is looking down right now and saying, ‘This is a great thing that’s happening for our country.’ This is a great day for him. It’s a great day for everbody. This is a great day for everybody. This a great, great day in terms of equality.”

The words of this truly evil, manipulative and callous man to a wash of poorly educated people who lap up his utter crap should be spread far and wide around the world and we should urge our governments to speak out loudly against this racist, ignorant man. People may have thought is presidency funny or somewhat amusing but he has gone too time and again and now he crosses a line.

This deliberate ignorance and nastiness is used to provoke us further, so he can send in the army within his country and urge more incidents of prejudice here in the U.K.

Trump and Johnson are one in the same thing, how many vote Conservative but then moan about Trump?

Johnson who allowed the woman accused of killing an 18yo to fly back to the USA or who has fathered 7 + children by several different women, writes racist and homophobic remarks and is still praised for his handling of CV-19 (66k excess deaths) and is ahead in the polls against, not just Corbyn but also a moderate opposition leader!

Back to Trump, he besmirched the muslim family whose son died in war (and who won a Purple heart) it did him no harm, likewise his remarks about grabbing womens pussies, so his remarks about George floyd are really quite tame.

Wishing Trump to be murdered makes anyone wanting that no better than him.

Trump gives me anxiety. To think this man was elected as 'leader of the free world,' whatever that means. Makes me feel scared and unsafe in the world especially as a WOC. I have to not dwell on it. Sad times

@iwantmysay speak for yourself. I didn't vote BJ in, never would. As for Trump any thing that comes out of that mouth is inexplicable and indefensible.

@iwantmysay I must have missed the bit where Johnson was voted in by 100%

The world at large needs to just stop ruefully shaking their head at this man's idiocy and do something“

Totally agree. But what? Do you have something in mind coz if it’s legal and safe - count me in!!

I don't understand how his family, the ones also working in the White House, don't do something about him. He's clearly got major issues and is irrational.

How the actual fuck has he not been removed yet?

Report

He really is disgusting.

But I think it's a case of him being so completely devoid of any empathy or emotion that he thinks that this is the 'thing' to say. He's not intentionally trying to insult people, he is just so thick he doesn't understand how normal people's minds work. He believes that people will be impressed by this shite. Or maybe it's that his advisors have told him he should care about this so he's trying to pretend he cares.

Either way, he's a scourge on the US. It will take them a long time to recover from the stain he's left on the country.

he is trying to make the economy the focus of his re election campaign

The worrying thing is that he may just get away with it - not least because the best the Democrats have got to offer is a candidate who's also reputed to suffer from dementia

The televised debatse should be interesting anyway ...

I am quite intrigued as to why on earth his wife sticks with him. The thought of having to spend any time in close proximity to that piece of slime is utterly nauseating, and I just don't understand how you could keep presenting yourself to the world as someone who is willingly associated with a racist, misogynist, moronic, greedy sex pest who will go down in history as the worst President ever.

He's not going to be happy until his country, if not the world, burns. He still thinks he's the CEO of a business where his word is final and people are collateral damage. That's why he was talking about the economy like he was presenting to a board of shareholders. He's a nightmare I wish I could wake up from.

OldLace · 05/06/2020 21:10

It's an overused term but I believe he is GASLIGHTING America.

Invoking George Floyd's name in this way is quite deliberate.

He's trying to stoke racial tensions by this, not ease them.

He WANTS this to escalate. He is truly evil, in my opinion.

To then end it with“ Nobody’s ever done for the black community what President Trump is doing.”

It's been a while since it's been set on fire, both literal and spiritual, like this. But it's great to see that the Black Community is not standing alone.

What he said about a murdered man was horrific. Completely disrespectful to him, his family and his loved ones. To then end it with“ Nobody’s ever done for the black community what President Trump is doing.”

Trump's insult of George Floyd and his family was purposeful and horrible. After that he shouldn't be allowed to speak Mr Floyd's name except to apologise.

Trump started from a base of stupidity. He's not intelligent, he's uneducated, won't be briefed, couldn't write "bum" on a wall without help, and doesn't give a fuck that he's stupid. He's a sociopath as well as a racist, misogynistic, lying, rapist who would kill his family if it gave him fucking ratings.

I think he's got frontal lobe dementia. He's disinhibited, can't put a coherent sentence together, and behaves worse than any spoiled child.

Right now his wilful racism and complete misunderstanding of why black people are rightfully angry is putting a match to a flame. He must be stopped.

Report
Clavinova · 05/06/2020 20:59

inane and utterly offensive.

I agree that Trump is inane and offensive - all the time - but he wasn't referring to jobs and the economy in the context of that particular quote.

Report
baroqueandblue · 05/06/2020 20:59

Yes OP, I can see that Trump is using George Floyd's murder to try to score political points. He is not qualified to utter that man's name until he unreservedly apologises for what's happening to black people and other people of colour under the 'watch' of his so-called presidency 💕

Report
mbosnz · 05/06/2020 20:57

'They have to receive same treatment'?*

They?

Who is They? Americans of a different colour?

Playing to a very old fucking hymn book. Invoke racism, while still being reasonably careful not to outright cite race.

I fear that all his demented supporters will be out in their droves to vote in November, he truly is Teflon, nothing sticks and he gets away with it all, the situation can only get worse as he plumbs new depths between now and election
