JET2 HOLIDAYS

Had a family booked with Jet2 for May of this year - then the virus struck!!

I was wondering how we would get any of the money paid back. We received an initial email saying that holidays would be affected and that they would contact travellers in departure date order. So I waited.

Ten days ago - out of the blue - I received a cancellation invoice and then - 2 days ago I check my credit card balance to see that the full amount had been repaid. Deposit, full balance of holiday and the amount paid for reserving seat - all paid back to my credit card.

No hassle, no fuss, no long hours spent on the phone - just paid back in full.

At a time now when that money can be put to better use, I was just very grateful to Jet2 for doing all of that with no hassle whatsoever.

As soon as travel restrictions are lifted I shall be going back to Jet2 to book my next holiday.

Thank you!!

I love flying with them. I am tall and not tiny and there is so much room in their seats. Everything is efficient and runs to time. Great company!

We had an excellent experience with Aer lingus. We were due to fly on 7th April. They offered vouchers, rebookjng for next year or refund. We choose a refund and it was in our account a few days later.
It's great to see that some companies are treating their customers well.

TUI were really good, but probably because I took the rebook option (they swapped dates to when is normally more expensive but didn't charge any more, still atol protected)

We’ve had two holidays with them and they were brilliant in every way. Very pleased to hear they have been brilliant with this too!

Our holiday is booked for June 29th, so out of the current range of cancellations. We are not expecting to go, though, so hope our refund is dealt with as easily.

We've got our money back from Easyjet now.

They emailed us and we requested a refund which has now cleared.

Took a few weeks though

JET2 were brilliant....I got my refund through easily as well. In fact they paid part of it back twice so we had to repay them :) Overly efficient! Definitely means I will be back using them in the future!

I had a great experience with jet2 as well. Straight through on the phone and full refund. Was expecting a bit of pressure to rebook for a different date but it wasn't even mentioned! Will definitely be travelling with them in the future.

Jer2 cancelled my April holiday and I got a full refund, they actually refunded me two days before I was meant to travel.

I always try to fly with them, the customer service is top notch.

I've been using Jet2 for years and never once had a problem with them. They're really good in terms of passengers with additional needs too, just spot on. You know how sometimes people think of potential issues in advance and already have a solution before you've even brought it up? No, me neither most of the time but they really do. Pleased to hear others have had good experiences too. I do hope they are able to keep operating.

@okiedokieme when did you rebook for? I don’t know when would be realistic and which country would even be worth visiting / allowing visitors

What a refreshing thread! I keep meaning to keep a list of companies who are getting positive press during all this so I can make sure to choose them in future

We got our refund within 36 hours of the phone call. Excellent service.

People will have long memories on this sort of thing. 12 months for a refund is nonsense but I guess we arent talking huge amounts.

I only go on holiday if I can fly with Jet 2. Customer service is excellent.

I think they have been great, their social media as this was all happening has been great. They are planning on resuming holidays 2 days before our holiday is booked but we don’t want to go now. We are just holding off incase this date gets moved then we will go for the full refund, however DH is a key worker so if we don’t go we can move our holiday to next year without any fee.
I don’t think I would use any other travel company now.

I've never used them, but having heard about how well they are treating their customers and general honesty/integrity, I'll be using them from now on.

I had a holiday cancelled with Broadway Travel who have been a total car crash. Switched off their phone lines, refusing to respond to e mails, won't provide copies of the credit notes they want to issue instead of the refund I want, telling blatant lies about what customers are entitled to and the law etc etc. Would never, ever, book with them again. I wouldn't travel with them if they paid me to go.

As a PP said, people have long memories when it comes to these sorts of things.

Same as @CaptainMyCaptain we are due to fly with them 20th June. Also not expecting to go so hopefully the refund process goes as smoothly for us. DP has fallen into a self employed gap where he is entitled to absolutely nothing so we could use the money!

Love Jet2 too. Always use them for flights where possible.

They're the antithesis of Ryanair for customer service - they have always been super helpful and polite, including prompt and efficient service via their call centre. Planes more comfortable too, and prices similar to other budget airlines.

I flew a couple of times last year alone with a 4/5 month old baby and they couldn't have done more, including giving me three seats to myself at check-in so baby could lie down to sleep (I didn't ask, the woman just said she would do it) and helping me on to plane with buggy and hand luggage.

They have been great for me in the past.
At present though we've a holiday booked for September, and they've just emailed to say flights have been moved earlier 3 hours, to something silly like 6am. Return flights moved 4 hours later so we return really late.

I'd probably rather just cancel at this point, but want to know if I'll lose my deposit.

My only option after logging on to Jet2 online is to tick a box to agree to the change before I can mange my booking. Their phone line is down (a recorded message tells you this). Email not replied to, and fb messenger has been ignored.

I know they're busy, but I don't think they should just change flights this much without offering a refund. Maybe up to an hour each way, but 3-4 hours?

Will wait a see what happens.

@TrudgingSlowlyOverWetSand it's been said further up the thread they're issuing refunds on date order, as yours isn't until September that's way down the pecking order
