AIBU to want only myself and partner to hold newborn for first month?

I have always practiced gentle and attached parenting with my current DD and am expecting my second LO soon. My parents have always been 100% supportive and encourage us to do as we wish regarding parenting, not what others think we should do. They don't ever interfere even when I know they may not have chosen a certain approach themselves, and I'm so thankful for this. We have decided this time round that we do not wish for anyone other than ourselves ( and DD ) to hold our newborn for the first 4 to 6 weeks as we want to focus on bonding and going from a family of 3 to 4 with as little external hassle as possible ( we didn't do this the first time and were quite overwhelmed with visitors ). I told my mother this yesterday and she said she respects my right to parent however way I wish, but says she can't help but feel upset at being excluded from the first month of her new grandbaby's life. I feel terrible that I have upset her and I have assured her that I love her and will send her pics everyday, but DP and I really feel that it is best not to overload our newborn with other people and I feel that we are doing the right thing by concentrating 100% on our little family. A month will pass by so quickly and I will welcome her , and other family with open arms after that. We just want that first 4 to 6 weeks alone. I know more and more parents are choosing to do this these days but I could really appreciate some tips on how you handled it. I'm OK telling friends that this is what I want, but getting the immediate family to understand is hard. How do I help them see this is nothing against them as grandparents, aunts and uncles ( they are all incredible ), but about our wishes as new parents and what we feel is best for our DD and LO? Please be gentle with me, I am feeling a bit fragile today. I'm definitely open to constructive criticism, but can we please not be too harsh. Thanks in advance
