...to see opposite neighbour looking out her kitchen window at me, licking plates before loading dishwasher)

I am not sure whether to be horrified at being caught out red-handed as it were, mid-lick, cleaning my dish before loading it in d'washer or just, oh well, I love my food and none will go to waste whilst I'm around.

Its gross though isn't it...oh... am swinging here...I just can't get enough of the taste and I need to portion control, so don't want to leave anything!

This is like in Malcolm in the middle, when the husband says he saw the wife eating pizza out of the trash can, and then the son puts it into an opera for the whole school to hear.

ah don't listen to people. unless you do this because of some eating disorder related thing, then its a bit weird, but entirely harmless.
i hate the term 'bad manners', it literally means nothing.

I find it gross if I'm honest, one thing licking yours at the end of the meal, which is just bad manners, it's a whole other ballgame licking congealed crap off of everyone's before you load the dishwasher.

Although it is rather comical with it. 😁

I was once caught by my boss eating youghurt out of the office bin. Won't bore you with the story - but I feel your embarrassment!

Well I wasn't going to share this steff13 but my mum used to lick my Dad's and sister's plate too Grin. In fact my lovely Dad would make sure there was some delicious gravy left on his plate Smile.

Oops, best to just smile and wave at the neighbour Halloween Grin

I think the fact you say you were licking plates, plural, would indicate you lick more than yours.

I mean this gently but do you have issues with food and control?

Oh. Pffft. My Mum used to lick her plate after a particularly good Sunday lunch.

That's not really the same thing, though, licking your own plate immediately after dinner.

No no no, all I can think of is you liking cold gravy or cold bean sauce of the dirty dishes OP, it's giving me the boak 🤢

I made the most beautiful gravy known to man once and accidentally spilt some on my kitchen side. Over my dead body was the juice of the gods going to go to waste. So, I whipped out a straw and enjoyed every slurp.

Gross? Definitely. Do I care? Not one bit.

Oh. Pffft. My Mum used to lick her plate after a particularly good Sunday lunch Grin. She used to encourage me to do the same. Although, a nice slice of white bread smushed round in the gravy is excellent too Grin.

Please tell me she stood watching you as you licked your fourth plate. I’ve visions of a food hamper from a mystery well wisher, being left on your doorstep. 🤣

This really made me laugh.

How long was the plate left? Was it your plate? What was the meal?

So many questions.

Report
chemenger · 28/10/2018 16:21

Why on earth would you do that? If I saw it I would thing you were very peculiar indeed. It would not occur to me to lick a plate.

You kick all the plates or just yours?

Either way it's rank Envy < not envy.

Its gross but we all got our thing and it could be worse

Report
Bluntness100 · 28/10/2018 16:20

Yeah, that's not good. Is it just your plate you lick or everyone else's?

I'll be honest, it's quite an odd thing to do.
