Because it is 2.35am and she just will not go the fuck to sleep.

She’s 7 months old has a cough. I know it’s not her fault but my patience is wearing thin. I have tried everything. She is exhausted. Eventually dozed off and then coughs herself awake two mins later and shouts and bawls till I go through and put her dummy back in. She has been like this since 11pm.

Please send help. And maybe some coffee. Husband fast asleep as he has a big court appearance tomorrow so I don’t want to disturb him (DD1 currently asleep in our bed on top of him so he’s suffering a little bit at least) but OMG this is so hard. I could throw up I’m so tired.

Sounds crazy but garlic socks always worked for us with coughs.
Grate one clove garlic into a jar and add a few spoons raw virgin coconut oil. Slather on soles of feet, massage in and out socks on.
It stops cough and sends them to sleep immediately.
You can also turn socks inside out and spread mixture thickly on the parts of the socks which would touch soles of feet. Turn right side in, slip on, massage in for a minute.
Room will smell like a pizza factory but it seriously works.
Also, weleda nasal spray for babies before sleep to break up the mucus.
I know this is too late but it might help for tonight and subsequent nights.
Humidifier with sweet thyme oil also.
Luck up Chinese back roll massage for cough babies children.
The combination of all these things has always stopped a cough for my daughter, and she used to cough so badly she would vomit, until I found these things.
Good luck! Hope you got some sleep!
Xxx

Also, you can get blocks to put under the feet of the cot or bed so the head part is propped up. Propping up with pillows never worked for my daughter because she would somehow roll off and I never felt it was that safe, but these did.

This, too, shall pass.

Are you me? My DS has a cold and was awake from 11.30-2.30, everytime he settled he'd cough himself awake. Then he woke at 4, 5 and 6... So tired.
