Trumpisanightmare · 08/12/2017 22:54

I mean, I am so so angry with him. How can one man cause so much hate, so many problems, ruin so many good things, and cause such problems in the Middle East.

I hate him. I want to do something, but don't know what. Are there some petitions out there I can sign? Marches I can go on? How do we stand up against this narcissistic, racist bleep bleep bleep who is ruining everything and causing bloodshed???

I had to smile at the irony of this thread. You HATE Trump for hating people!

I don't think that is irony. Hate is very strong, but I think valid in this circumstance.

I think republican gerrymandering is disgraceful. Why can't you win fair and square? If you have to resort to these ridiculous tactics you are not fit to represent the people you seek votes from.

Yes DeFusco is a democrat. He wasn't the chosen candidate by the party. Bhalla got funding and endorsements from the democrats. There were six candidates, five of whom were democrats.

I don't believe that database will ever happen. So far states are refusing to turn over the voter information.

Defusco is a democrat.

Bhalla was not the favored candidate. Zimmer endorsed him as did the democrats. DeFusco was the front runner.

He undoubtedly has an awful lot of blood on his hands.

As for what you can do about it, I would hope that as many people as possible in the UK continue to lobby MPs to make it clear that he is not welcome here - and if or when he does turn up, again I hope for a phenomenal turn-out for demonstrations against the visit.

The newly announced massive national voter database may also cause more problems than it solves (if it solves any):

www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2017/12/05/trumps-voter-fraud-commission-plans-to-create-a-massive-voter-database-former-national-security-officials-say-it-could-be-hacked/?tid=sm_tw&utm_term=.b9aca0264bc9

Former national intelligence director James R. Clapper Jr., one of the co-signatories of the brief, warned that a White House plan to create a centralized database containing sensitive information on millions of American voters will become an attractive target for nation states and criminal hackers.
[...]
“A large database aggregating [personally identifiable information] of millions of American voters in one place, as the Commission has compiled and continues to compile, would constitute a treasure trove for malicious actors,” the signatories wrote.
[...]
Clapper and the other experts added that malicious actors could also alter the database itself, leading the Trump administration to act on false information. Such manipulation could eventually result in the wrongful removal of legitimate voters from voter rolls.

“We now know better than 12 months ago just how much foreign governments would like information on American voters,” said Joshua Geltzer, executive director of Georgetown’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection and one of the co-authors of the brief.

There are actually serious concerns about election problems in the US increasing in the next few years.

One of the first acts of the current US administration was to close the boringly named, but important, Election Assistance Commission.

www.brennancenter.org/press-release/house-committee-votes-terminate-agency-protects-voting-machines-hacking

H.R. 634 would eliminate the EAC, an independent government agency that sets security standards for voting machines and functions as a clearinghouse for election administration, among other duties.

The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law released the following statement from Democracy Program Director Wendy Weiser:

“This bill would kill the one federal agency charged with upgrading our voting systems. At a time when the vast majority of the country’s voting machines are outdated and in need of replacement, and after an election in which foreign criminals already tried to hack state voter registration systems, eliminating the EAC poses a risky and irresponsible threat to our election infrastructure."

That's not voter fraud though - it could be described as a dirty campaign, maybe - but you have no evidence at all that it was the democrats doing the dirty. You really believe the Democrats made those leaflets? I think that's ridiculous.

Bhalla, from press reports, was the favoured candidate of the outgoing Mayor - which makes him a very strong candidate already.

Report
Want2bSupermum · 15/12/2017 23:20

Yes that little gem. The candidate accused, DeFusco, was considered to be leading to that point. Bhalla had the democrat party behind him. De Fusco, while a democrat, didn't have the blessing of the party and the campaign was an operation to get Bhalla in to replace the current mayor.

Voter fraud is rife. Just consider the board of ed elections in Hoboken. [https://grafixavenger.blogspot.com/2014/11/msv-boe-voter-fraud-allegations-going.html?m=1]

I recall rumors of voter fraud through the VBM option in west New York with last months election. Personally I think everyone should be able to vote early in person after showing their ID just like you have to when you vote in person. It would eliminate this problem.

I was a tad interested in this Hoboken thing - so I googled it. The pp is talking about this:

www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/2017/11/fliers_attacking_sikh_mayoral_candidate_surface_in.html

What is very clear is that racist literature against this Sikh candidate was distributed- and Want2BSupermum wants to believe that this was done by the Democrats - some sort of false flag operation? I seriously doubt that.

So you're talking about the Democratic party in one town then? And you're saying that Democrats in your town are committing fraud using absentee ballots? In my town the voters who use absentee ballots tend to be elderly or in the military. Seems like an unlikely group to commit fraud on behalf of Democratic candidates but I don't know anything about how things work in Hoboken, so I'll have to take your word for it.

Let's start with the postal votes for the school board positions. Following that let's move on to the recent mayoral election in Hoboken, NJ where a couple of days before the election racist posters were distributed making it look like another candidate had done it. It was major tampering with an election and I do believe the candidate who was accused is innocent.

Lest I not forget local politician who now has his name on a school in town. Somehow he is elected into paid board roles. It's got to the point where no one will run against him.

The paid for votes are a big problem in this town. The board of ed election isn't called until they have counted postal votes because there are so many that it has resulted in a 4th place candidate all of a sudden coming in first.

And the democrats failed to connect with more voters. There is always common ground. The fact that many didn't vote is indicative of lack of engagement.

who I never said he is doing a good job. I think he is doing a terrible job and him coming out to support Moore is going to be his downfall. If he was as smart as he says he is he would have sat this one out and said nothing.

I'm also offended with his performance in Puerto Rico. He was throwing paper towels at locals. Who does that!?!??
