Did an online order for various day to day clothes on 24th November.

Had 3 emails since saying my order is nearly ready for despatch but they are "very busy at the moment" (go figure Hmm). Email received yesterday said it would be an additional 3 to 4 days.

Just not good enough and will be my first and last online order from such an incompetent company.

And yes, I would tweet them but I don't tweet.

Still waiting for coat racks ordered on Nov. 25. I phoned to ask what was going on, as they’d been showing as “in stock” and “being prepared” since I ordered, and the woman I spoke to seemed a bit huffy and taken aback that I was expecting them to have arrived by now. Apparently my coat racks are in France. Which is nice for them.

Ordered 5 items on 24th November.

4 of them arrived after 13 days
Last one arrived yesterday (20 days)!

Just hopeless.

Useless company. The people you call with enquiries have no idea about their products. I had to call once because was considering buying two beds with headboards and I needed to know if the headboards had to be fastened to a wall or could they fasten to the bed (as the beds were not back-to-wall they were sideways on).

Anyway, was assured that this was fine and lo and behold when they arrived the headboards could only be fastened to a wall.

The clue is in the name. "redoute" in French means "dread"

Oh god, every time I order from them I vow never to do it again. Currently waiting for 2 coat racks - ordered in mid-Nov and apparently “in stock” and “being prepared” ever since. Twats.

Oh God, it isn't just me! Ordered from them for the first time this November during a 50% off event - six or seven bits for DD.

Only 5 have arrived so far; I keep getting emails about high demand.

Back-fastening tops/outfits for infants are, it turns out, an awful idea.

The price I paid seems about right; I certainly wouldn't pay double.

They're the Gap of France, aren't they?! With an added frisson of crap delivery.

Anyone here good with Twitter? They should be directed to this thread.

I've used on and off. A few things I've found is you need to order clothing in more than one size (free returns) as sizing very inconsistent. Normally on the large size but not always. Also there's nearly always some discount on so never buy at full price. I think delivery is also inconsistent- things I I've ordered this year have come very quickly (and since returned!!) but I've also had items where I hog an apology for delay and it then never arrived.

Wtaf, pp was accused of "lying about how I had come about being in possession of a catalogue (at the time not online, you had to phone up and order catalogue) and lying about my intentions (ordering trousers for myself)"

Is it like some sort of exclusive club!?

I use La Redoute for children's staples. I usually buy in the sales twice a year - their delivery times are not the fastest but otherwise seems to work for me as I buy one size up for the next season. Their cotton T-shirts are very soft. Jeans have adjustable waists and so suit my slim line dcs.

I see them as a good value no frills company.

I have bought from them twice and both times orders took ages to arrive and when they did the quality was cheap. Won’t bother again.

I used to use them periodically as money wasn't in abundance at that time.
Once I started full time work I sent in a new order only to receive a letter through the post - in the days before email/internet - to tell me that as I didn't spend enough money with them the previous year, they had cancelled my account!

I used to use them for dd clothes, maybe 14/10 years ago. They were great. I had no problems with them except I once ordered trousers in the wrong size (or maybe they sent the wrong size). I phoned and sent the trousers back and got the right ones very quickly.

I always found them helpful and efficient.

Was I just lucky?

I used to be a customer and had used them for about 16 years with no serious issues. A lot of the time if they advised an item would be delayed by about two weeks, it would actually arrive in one week. So not so bad.

Most recently I ordered a pair of swimming trunks for my 8 year old boy. I actually got a size 8 dress. There would be raised eyebrows if he tried wearing that at his swimming lesson...

I have given up with them because of trying to keep track of my payments online. I would always buy with the same pattern: order quite a few items, return some/none, pay for the ones I kept, promptly. For YEARS. Then my payments were showing as taken but actually hadn't. Maybe not their fault, but did they need to charge me for not paying when I had a payment reference number to quote to them to show I had tried to pay?

Amazing that they would prefer to lose a customer of 16 years for the sake of an admin fee. And no apology for the dress, even.

I’m still salty several years ago I ordered a fancy coat for my dh Christmas present, in November. Still no sign by end of January so I cancelled. Didn’t have any spare cash at time so couldn’t get him anything else for Christmas, he was very disappointed.

I ordered something which should have arrived in time for me to send abroad to my niece with the rest of her presents. Got an email to say they are experiencing delays due to exceptionally high demand. Which means i'll have to post it separately, therefore paying an extra £8 for overseas delivery.

Bloody Zulily delivers quicker and with them you at least know why the process takes so long.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 07/12/2017 22:16

I’m not sure they’re struggling, at least not financially

  • same thing happened to me 5 years ago (DD was a toddler so more or less around then). It took months, not weeks, I cancelled it in the end. Shisters.

LA Redoute are only any good for their brushed cotton sheets and Levi jeans when they are on offer. Everything else is crap.

I’m still waiting for a coat I ordered ages ago. By the time it arrives it will no doubt be cheaper in the Jan sales 🙄

That's a shame, I like their kids' clothes. But I buy them a year too big in the sale and wait for their "everything with an extra 50% off discount" before I buy. They're generally good quality and nicer designs than on the highstreet.

I ordered six or seven items from them. Most of it was huge. Bizarrely huge. And some of it was pretty poor quality. I only kept one thing. I liked the boys teeshirts but I wouldn’t get anything for myself again.
