AIBU?

to ask the likelyhood of Nuclear War?

I'm trying to understand/comprehend the likelyhood of this happening and if so why would it be likely (beyond trumptater being a div), or if not likely, who would step in to prevent it or what would happen?

I know it's media sensationalism and there is always a news agenda but I'm struggling to see how this is benefiting anyone beyond supermarket tinned food manufacturers and iodine tablet producers.

Is it connected to the arms trades in Africa? Does Russia want us to bomb each other so they can rule the barren unuseable wastelands?

I'm not feeling very clever right now due to being over tired and over worked and I just can't wrap my head around it all, beyond how sad it would be for my gorgeous, clever, happy little boy to grow up in a world like that.

(Shamelessly posted here for traffic Blush)

We're a lot further away from it than we were in the 60's & 80's.

Have you not noticed that the Media & Government like us to be afraid?

It's cos they don't have any leverage with happy, contented people whereas scared people can be herded & directed by anyone that sounds like they know what they're talking about........

Ultimately you have to hope that no matter how mental some of our world leaders are, no one wants to live in a nuclear wasteland. I mean there's no nuclear "war" is there, everything just gets blown up! The end!

I can't say it doesn't worry me, especially having seen Threads Shock, but there's literally NOTHING I can do about this one.

I hate sky news, they're so sensationalist, fuck em, frightening us to death. I too worry OP, but i try and reassure myself that world leaders have too much to lose to risk NW.
