Dh was made redundant last year and knowing that he had always wanted to set up on his own we agreed that he’d use his not inconsiderable amount of redundancy money to fund this.
Fast forward to now and he has started to get some work in but things have been difficult and we’ve been cutting down on family expenses, reducing what we would spend at Christmas etc. He is by no means in the clear but has a good engagement coming up and a couple of other prospects in the pipeline. At the moment he would be able to do all this work himself.
He took some tax advice a few weeks ago from his relative who is a tax accountant and decided to register as a ltd company, at which point he announced to me that he would be going into business with a previous colleague who I haven’t even met.
Aside from the fact that he doesn’t need the help and, in my opinion shouldn’t be giving half the work and money when we are having to make cuts, I am really upset that he hasn’t discussed this with me first, just agreed he was going to do it. As joint directors of a ltd company this isn’t just a minor thing it’s a major commitment.
We have a dd together and a mortgage and I work full time. I don’t think I am being u expecting him to have discussed this with me first?

AIBU?
To think dh shouldn't go into business with someone without talking to me about it first?
