Posting here for traffic so yes IABU for that!

Husband just noticed this in the mirror, it's just under his lip btw.

He does suffer from cold sores but always on the top lip, but we thought it could be that. But then it looks pussy. Ingrown hairs? neither of us has seen anything like this before. tempted to squeeze it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone know what this could be?

Shingles? Is it on one side of the face and a tingling, burning, painful sensation? Does he fell unwell - tired, headache, fever? Has he had chickenpox? You need to have had that I think. I would try to get him to the dr tomorrow, as if it is shingles he can get medication if they catch it early, may be something else though.

Coldsores. Small fluid filled blisters is exactly what coldsores are.

It does look like cold sores, I get them in more than one place, but wouldn’t it be painful?

If you have or can get some llysine tablets I would take a few a day will be gone in a few days. Don't put coldsore cream on he needs to dry it out I use hand sanatizer it drys it out and kills germs.

He says it's not painful but is getting itchy now. Thanks for all the replies. We are going to treat it as if it's a coldsore.

I am a bit worried because we shared a can of coke today and he shared a lolly with DS and I really, really don't want us to have caught it :(

DH and DS have never caught them off me and I have had quite a few, I think some people are susceptible to them

Ok thank you. I really hope we don't catch them, I have a rubbish immune system so I just know that I would have them every bloody week!

I would guess cold sore or impetigo. I think both are very contagious.

Sure I read somewhere that once you have caught herpes (coldsores) you will only be able to get it in that same place.

Nacho that’s what we thought. He has only ever had it in that one place ever.

You do get them in the same place but they can spread so you can have a few same places. I get 2 on my lip, have done for ages and now I also get 3 up my right nostril, very nice

Coldsores are easily spread, though. All it takes is you dabbing ointment on one and accidentally wiping your hand on a cut or another bit of skin, and presto, more coldsores!

DP gets them when he's very run-down. Either on his chin or next to his nose.
