Lovely cool breeze, nice comforting grey sky...

No legs sticking together / to chairs, no lack of air con at causing misery, no cats in a mood so foul even dreamies cannot mend... I know The Heat will be back. But thank god its gone for now!

Today is heavenly here in Yorks. Yesterday I was sat on the bus with hair that looked like I'd just got out the shower. I can't even imagine how bad it was down South because the last few days have been way too much for me. DD is in London and yesterday she and DGD sounded beside themselves. DGD was a red, sweaty, unreasonable wreckage and DD was totally miserable and exhausted. I'm retired and have nothing I HAVE to do and was still totally fed up. I feel so sorry for those commuting (esp on buses and the tube) and who are stuck in broiling workplaces etc. We just aren't equipped for these conditions. Our buildings, roads, lack of air con. I still remember 1976 and waking up one morning, looking out the window at another hot, sunny day kicking off and just bursting into floods of tears! And I'm not a person who cries easily.

Grey but still humid where I am. I'm desperate for rain and thunder...

Is anyone near Glastonbury? One of mine is there and I am really hoping it's cooled down a bit.

It's sheer bliss at 23c here today, I can think clearly again, no rage or anxiety & am most looking forward to sleeping all night again.

It does amuse me that people can get so irate if someone states why they hate/love certain seasons/temperatures. I loathe the really hot days but couldn't care less if someone else enjoys them. I will however reserve the right to whinge and whine if it ever hits 33.7c like it did here yesterday Grin

AnyFucker

You reminded me of lovely childhood memories with my DF. My Italian DF loved cricket(!) and took me to Old Trafford quite often. I remember him explaining the seam bowling to me, saying that the bowling was always particularly difficult to play at Old Trafford because the humidity made the ball swing so much! Maybe it's been humid in Manchester forever. :-)

I'm Central Scotland and I'm bloody freezing. Wish I lived further south and it was warmer

The only thing that got rid of my goosepimples last night was a boiling hot shower and then snuggling in under a fleece blanket.

Scottish schools break up next week so no doubt it will piss down solidly here for 6 weeks. I'm glad it's a bit cooler though, been melting in the heat and I'm so glad I don't live somewhere it reached 30c.

I never whinge about grey skies, wind, rain, frost etc. I much prefer cold weather with autumn being my favourite season of all so I don't think I will just get on with it without moaning. I've felt really ill this week, still got the remains of a migraine that woke me up on Tuesday night. I'm so glad it's finished and hope it remains more temperate for the entire summer 😊

I'm in South Staffs and it's a lovely temperature here, it's grey and breezy too. According to the weather apps that I have it should be raining by now but there's nothing as of yet.

Well that was pointless. Five minutes of rain, two rumbles of thunder and that was it!

I'm in Nottingham and it's grey and a sensible temperature. I've actually had enough energy to mow the lawn. Contemplating some weeding now. So happy this weather has landed on my day off 😊

We had a little thundery shower earlier, and now it's much nicer here. There's a cool breeze and no glare.

Happy for anyone who enjoyed the heat, but I was not one of them!

Report
Fontella · 22/06/2017 11:18

Yep!

I'm on the coast and it's been baking here for days. I've never had so many cold showers and drunk pints of iced water.

Woke up this morning to overcast skies and a lovely cool breeze. Bliss!

I would be absolute shit living in a hot climate. I'm a proper Brit - bit of rain, not too hot - that's how I like it!
