I have been sent a warning on Facebook by a friend who obviously thinks I am going senile. Apparently I must NOT grind up wasp nests and put them up my fango as it can do damage! Who'd a thunked! When I googled it I found that It Is A Thing. Doctors have advised against it. Just in case any of you mumsnetters were thinking of doing it I implore you not to.😁

Yes. Not just the US. They're here in the UK too.

Instead of nests that we all know, there are solitary parasitic wasps which are hosted by oak trees.

The larvae develop and hatch out what are effectively mutant acorns.

Even green, they look disgusting.
