AIBU?

To think "show me show me" is the creepiest program ever?

Two fully grown adults using teddies and stuff to pretend to play? It isn't so cringe to watch. There aren't even any children, just adults doing imaginative play.
Am I the only one that finds it hard to watch?

We went to see it on tour when Ds was 2ish. He has absolutely no recollection of it now!

Watched a programme last night about kids to gone wrong.

Pui was in a Channel 4 late night programme called Metrosexuality and had a pretty risqué scene going down on another woman. Normally I wouldn't flinch but it was so odd to see Po/Happy Pui from Show Me, Show Me full on going for it with a dental dam BlushShock

It's lovely and Chris and Pui are funny and genuine.

It is THE WORST. It's the only one I have to turn off at, I'd even watch mr tumble and Justin's house over it. Pui's robotic singing voice does my nut in!

My youngest is almost 9 now. I miss Show Me, Show Me. And anything with Chris and Pui.

Great show. Very reminiscent of Play School and Play Away when I was little.

Used to love Tikkabilla when DD was small too. Apart from Paul. Couldn't stand that bloke and his nasal whining.

Ah I love show me show me, my dd loves 'show me your groovy moves'

Cannot stand it! Can't stand it when Pui attempts singing, or does a stupid accent like the robot or the farmer, or when they start faffing about with that yellow cushion, Stuffy! Of all the cbeebies shows that one is my least tolerable!

I love it! Love Chris and Pui, the singing, the sets. And Groovy Moves! My favourite episodes are Marshmallow Go and Satsuma Zoom:)

You're not supposed to watch it with them! You're supposed to leave them in the living room while you drink tea wine and inhale biscuits in the kitchen while Mumsnetting Grin

I do agree though - how is Chris still so young?

@user1487175389 yep and he was in the broom cupboard too 🙊

That's a reference to my age if there ever was one hehe

Yes, he was the anorak on CBBC wasn't he, glitter? See I'm not old either - although Chris clearly has a painting in his attic.

My kids never had a blind bit of interest in it. For my little boy its all about Bing which is fine as I think its a sweet show. Both are a fan of andys dinosaur adventures. If I put show me show me on my little boy just waunders off to play elsewhere. Its hilarious from adult watching it, I wonder if their mates take the mick

Love show me show me. They look at each other sometimes and you know they're blatantly having a laugh between takes. Plus the imagination and counting in the show is awesome. My dd could count (granted it was mimicking) to ten and back down again by 20 months watching it.

The creepy animals that come out when someone wants a show me creep me right out though.

And Chris Jarvis used to be a kids presenter when I was a kid so it makes me feel like I'm not that old yet haha x

YABVU. It's an excellent programme. It's fairly traditional with simple themes and features, and lots of repetition. That's why it's so good.

YABU Show me Show me is great. Reminds me of Play School from my own childhood.

You aren't really the demographic.

Bloody love Show Me Show Me.
It reminds me of coming home from dropping DD off at playgroup and sitting down with a brew and baby DS to watch it.
Cosy as fuck Grin

I think show me show me is brilliant - gentle, imaginative, no tech, no bells or whistles, lots of things that can easily be done at home (make a tree with a broom handle and some scarves type thing). I love the fact that pui can't sing well. Do we want to give our children the message that everything must always be perfect? Singing is fun and she enjoys it. I like the fact that they're both very normal.

I love it, but then I used to watch Playschool/Playdays when I was little and I adored that.

I think it's lovely and slow paced but still with some variety.
