It's the modern day alternative to watching christians being eaten by lions.

I really think someone in authority should intervene and have the programme stopped because it exploits people who don't have enough judgement to see it's wrong. Many of them are mentally ill or have low IQs. It's very nasty to laugh at other people's misfortunes.

someone in authority

Who? Lord Reith is dead!

Nobody is forced to watch it, nobody is forced to go on it - unlike the lions' dinner in Imperial Rome they are all volunteers and adults.

OP Sorry you are ill. Next time make sure that when you retire to the sofa you take the remote with you.

They lack the judgement to know what they're even volunteering for though. It's totally unfair to exploite them.

It makes me feel so much better about my own life, teeth, dress sense, weight and overall attractiveness.

The people on it are often mentally unwell, overwhelmed and unable to express themselves properly. So he tortures them in front of an audience. Gets lots of viewers unsurprisingly.

The jk is horrible picks on vulnerable people. And family's. He's a prat he is rideal mouths it off picks an agument whilst having his body guard there...hard man!! Sometimes people have challenged how he is. He never answers just laughs. I swear he has no idea how social services work when kids have ended up in care.

Get then does the hospital programme to try and say look I can be a kind person...but he looks so bloody fake.

No one forces these people to go on it. Yes some may have low iq or have mental health issues etc but most are just after their 5 mins of fame. And he does do good, there have been shoes about raising awareness for certain conditions, he sends a lot of people to rehab for certain issues. He once took an old run down building not far from where I live and turned it into a youth centre and did a £70k makeover on the local community centre. So he's not all bad

Jeremy Kyle allows people to feel smug about their lives.

The point is for fortunate people to laugh at those who have had bad upbringings, no education and very little chance in life. Then they can post on here feigning concern.

See the post by sweetpea for evidence.

The point is to make money. No need to overthink it. They make money and they don't really give a shit who they exploit in order to do that.

I have never understood why people went to watch public hangings. Jeremy Kyke is the modern equivalent.
