Never been on holidays

Do you think it's strange that my brother always drops his DS to my parents every bank holiday weekend from Friday evening to Tuesday morning? And that my nephew has never been on a holiday with his parents despite them being on loads in his 4 short years? Hmm

Is it really every bank holiday? All of them annually? And how many holidays is 'loads'?

It's not so much about the holidays, it's more the fact that they sound like they want to offload him to other people so often so they can spend their free time without him. I agree if they can afford lots of holidays it's a great shame he is missing out on the experiences but remember most children in the world don't get to do those things either. It's the spending quality time with his parents that's the important thing even if it's just trips to the park or local pool.

They go long haul for a weekend? Couldn't be arsed with that.
Loads of far away places are child friendly that is just an excuse. They should be taking him on holiday even if they take the occasional holiday as a couple.

They have been to Las Vegas and a few other far away places that would not be child friendly so that's their reasoning for not bringing him. My parents don't bring him on holidays either as they don't go on holidays themselves. I just feel sad for my nephew and think he's getting to an age where he'd enjoy a holiday you know play in the pool, have a few new experiences etc..

That sounds very sad. Don't they want to spend time with their own son?

So they have been away on holiday lots without him?
That's sad.
Have grandparents ever taken him away?

No big days out. They do have him weekends they are off work but also send him to SIL parents for some weekends too.

Yes it's odd - parents usually want to share new experiences

Do they have 'big' days out?

Do they have him weekends, or when they're off work?
