AIBU?

To be really noisy as I leave the house

Every night without fail my neighbours stand at their front door (under my bedroom window) chatting really loudly to their adult dc until gone midnight.

So I've decided it's time for payback as I've tried asking them nicely. I've asked the dc to make a racket as they leave and I fully intend to do the same. Yes I am fully aware I'm being petty

Aibu?

I think people just dont have a clue what they are like a lot of the time. One of my neighbours lets her kids play in her garden till midnight at weekends screaming on the trampoline, while they sit and drink. It keeps us awake. A few weeks ago another neighbour across the back had a loud party and this neighbour came to me complaining her kids were kept awake by the party. I told her that her kids keep mine awake and she said dont be daft, mine are really quiet Confused

I had awful overhead neighbour one time who had a party where they played Kylie Minogue's Spinning Around single over and over again from 9pm to 3am. It was absolute hell. The next morning when I got up for work I was soooo tired that I accidentally opened the frontdoor before I turned off the house alarm. It flustered me so badly that I did it again. Twice.

I think you and the kids need to take up recorder lessons that start at 6am. Wouldn't it be funny if you forgot something and left the kids standing outside their windows at quarter to 6 while you went back to look for it. I mean kids that age need to practice don't they and what else will they do while they wait for you. Such a shame it took you so long to find it.

Yabu to not consider leaving early every morning either on a Harley or in a souped up nova with no exhaust!
Or whatever is cheap and noisy these daysGrin

Or you need to to join in the conversations.

A few "really?" Or
Oooh. Did she?

No way!

When I lived in a student area I had a similar problem. They used to congregate on the wide pavement outside my block of flats. It was so annoying.

One night, I was so fed up of it that I decided to take action. I opened the bedroom window and prepared to chuck a pint of water onto them. Just as I did so, I realised that my upstairs neighbour was leaning out of his window with a massive bucket, which he proceeded to pour down over them. We gave each other the thumbs up as I dodged back inside.

It didn't solve the problem but it felt good.
