Hi all,
I am a newbie here so firstly thank you for taking the time to read my post and secondly thanks for any advice you may offer.
I have been unwell recently, I went from being fit health to pretty quickly going downhill and am now unable to walk without using a stick and have been in and out of hospital for the last few weeks getting tested for all sorts of things. So as of now I am waiting for some potential life changing news about my diagnosis and have been left a bit flat at the lack of support offered from friends. I was wondering if you feel I am just being paranoid and/or should I say anything about how I feel?

There is a group of us that usually catch up over coffee a couple of times a week. Intitially when I was first admitted to hospital they asked if there was anything they could do but I said my husband had taken time off so he had things covered. I also haven't been asked how I am doing in the last 2 wks. We often group text general stuff and I am still being included in that and I am also still asked for coffee. However when I say I am not feeling well enough to come, still no-one asks how I am getting on or if I need any help looking after my bairn.

Maybe I am just being overly sensitive but I would have thought at least one of them would have asked how I am.

I appreciate your thoughts/feedback.

To goingthedistance
Thank you very much, great advice. I think I will contact them as you suggest as I may well have come across as not needing or wanting help 😃

So sorry you're going through this with your health. It must be very difficult not least the waiting to find out what's wrong.

Regarding your friends, you say they did ask initially if there was anything they could do to help and that you replied DH was taking care of things. Depending on how it was communicated it's possible that they might think you don't wish to talk about it. Some people are quite sensitive and private about health matters so they may be respecting your privacy.

If they really are friends then why not reach out and let them know that you would appreciate their support.
