To think Burger King ripped me off today

I took the plunge and went through their drive thru today. Now I don't usually use Burger King and I wasn't sure what to order and felt a bit rushed as they where waiting for me to order and there was a car behind me so I quickly glanced over the menu and ordered a Bacon double Cheeseburger priced at Ialhtough in my haste I didn't really see the price.
Well when I took it out of the wrapper I coudnt believe it I thought perhaps they had mistakenly given me a childs burger it was that small.
I could have paid £1.49 at mcdonalds instead and it would have even tasted better.
What a complete utter rip off I feel cheated.
Anybody else had this disappointment at Burgerking.

I used to work in a motorway services at Burger King for a few years. I used to be embarrassed when totalling up the price and asking the customer if they wanted to 'Go Large' too. Most of us that worked there used to dream of Maccy's burgers and fries but I did and still do love a Bacon Double Cheeseburger (not xl).

We stopped doing the mushroom double Swiss while I still worked there which must of been 1999. Lots of people still remember that burger!

It is really expensive! Costs over £20 for me and 3 kids, I did have a mushroom double cheese for £1.59 the other day though and that was delicious.

My husband refers to the unpleasant surprise of finding something is much dearer than it has any right to be as a 'Burger King Moment'. So, 'I was fancying that shirt in M&S, then I checked the price tag- total Burger King moment!'

My first and last McDonald's was summer 1991. My parents took me to see Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and I got to go there afterwards as an extra treat.

I ordered a cheese burger as I was unfamiliar with everything on the menu. The best thing about it was the gerkin/pickle!

Even now when we have burgers at home (veggie now though) I always put cheese and gerkin on them. Makes me think of Kevin Costner.

I much prefer BK to McDonald's (I'm foreign and we didn't have BK at home, so 7 years on there's still a novelty factor to it). I always get a double whopper with cheese, which is large enough to be a full meal for me - sometimes I only get through 3/4ths or so.

I'd love one to be nearer home though - my closest is Peckham, which is a trek.

DD and I went through BK drive through yesterday, not been to BK for ages.
I had double mushroom cheese burger. DD had chicken legend or similar.
£2.98 for both ☺ some sort of daily deal.
was very nice too!

They are more expensive than McD's, but still well within the fast-food pricing range, and if I'm in the mood for a dirty burger than it's BK all the way.

I thought people only went there when they had a voucher? much like Pizza express or La Tasca! I would never pay full price in any of those places.

(But then I am Northern/tightwad/skint)

They are expensive especially the franchise's, but I do think the beef is nicer than McDonald's

BK have an app with vouchers that you can use. 2 whopper meals for 8.50 which makes it a similar price to McDonald's

BK are dreadful.

We bought three of those icy smoothie things last summer, thinking they would be, you know, like kind of smoothies or icy drinks or whatever.

They were pure chemical sweetener, mixed with ice - none of us could drink them - absolutely disgusting and a complete waste of money. We threw them all in the bin - and we're not normally fussy, honestly.

I can't believe anyone could drink that without entering some kind of catatonic state in advance.

Never again.

I used to love the spicy bean burgers about 20 ýears ago, do they still do those?

Their burgers are better, although they are both shit really but yes, the price is ridiculous.

DH got us all a BK recently and I was shocked at how much it cost for us all, we could have gone to a decent restaurant for not much more.

RudeElf stop being a dick.

You did quite well to make yourself understood well enough to get what you ordered on those sub-standard drive-through speakers BK use.

I haven't had a burger king in years, but about 7 years ago I stopped off a service station and was taken aback by how expensive Wimpy was. Much more expensive than burger king. Maybe because there's not many of them around? Was nice though. Grin
