To not want to finish my degree?

I've had a couple threads in Chat about my Master's degree but the way I'm now is exhausted and feel like I can't go on.

I handed in my dissertation last week but feel like it's below par so might maybe just scrape a pass but nothing spectacular. I'm now about to finish the MA as my final report and project is due for Monday and I honestly just can't be bothered anymore. At least I tried. I'm ready to accept a fail. I just don't see how I can pass and tbh I gave it a good shot but now willing to concede defeat. Sorry I'm rambling but I've just had it and sick of it.

Always That's not my forte in the slightest unfortunately. FWIW, I've always written my intro and conclusion last as then I knew what to put in them.

For today and tomorrow just focus on writing and writing and writing more. You can finesse on Thursday and Friday. You've done 8000 words so far so it's not as if you're starting from scratch and it's not as if you have no idea what you're doing. I also felt like I couldn't construct a sentence to save my life but the main thing for me was just to push on. What will be after I handed it in will be. I did what I could manage.

Wrt your Dh, yes I did say that my Dp was behaving in such a way that he'd be glad if I didn't finish. He's getting the boot soon! That's going to be a whole different thread though. I'm happy to read through anything and pick up on typos and such like but I'm not an expert in the area you're doing.

Keep on!!! When I started this thread I'd basically typed out a letter to my course leader telling her that I was leaving the course. I didn't send it and I finished in the end. Keep going! X

Always - you can do this.

Firstly, don't worry about writing things in order. If you know what you're putting in your conclusion, write it now. Or at least bullet-point it. It may help you to structure your discussion as your conclusion is the place you cover everything, IYSWIM.

Split what you have into sections by broad topic. You can work more logically like this.

Reference as you go. I know it's a pain in the arse, but it's quicker than doing it at the end.

oh lord it's about the British and Russians in Persia 1880-1907. Anyone know anything about the 'Irish problem' that was going on in England? I have 4 sections to do for the main body and just lost and demotivated now almost turning me hysterical and laughing for no apparent reason. Can't string a sentence together properly written or in RL to my DH. Add to that the past few weeks have meant tensions between DH and myself have been very high, I really cannot concentrate. Like you said in a previous post OP, I don't think he wants me to do well or is doing an amazing job at sabotaging my mood. I don't even know anymore.

AlwaysStarving Come on! No way I'd think that. Tbh I was just reading back the thread and can't believe how much of a change I've felt within myself in the past 72 hours even if it might be the wine.

5000 words by Friday is do-able! And if you post the sort of thing you're after I'm sure someone will be knowledgable in that field. I received a lot of help from these vipers and I'll be eternally grateful for that support. What sort of thing are you doing?

I have done just over 8000 now but soo much left to do..leaving my intro and conclusion until Thursday or whenever I get the main body finished. It is an almighty mess sentences don't make sense but I am just trying to get words down. Add to that sorting out the referencing! Also need to get it bound and hand 2 copies in and email another one by 5pm Friday so technically need to get this done by midday Friday. Lovely

Ahh Turnitin. The bane of my life. There was a DDOS attack on it Friday (frustrated students or technicians no doubt) We were still experiencing some fall out on Monday so you were not alone there. We've had to extend some of our deadlines because of it.

This is how I felt. I thought my dissertation was a pathetic mess and cried to my DH every day that I would fail, but I worked my ass off and gave it 100%. I was like a wringed-out dishcloth at the end and slept for life a month afterwards. I got a first.

I toyed with a PhD but I just can't afford it. My lecturer mentioned it months ago, but wasn't offering any work to fund it! Maybe in 6 months (I have a few projects relating to my dissertation that are potentially taking place over the spring).
