pretty self explanatory by my title, but shouldn't it be a decision made when 18 and an adult?

OP posts:

Roller - I actually think it's been a really interesting thread and don't see it as an indication that MN is going to the dogs Grin. The OP asked for it to be deleted way back, but a few of us asked for it to stay - I think it raises some really pertinent questions (again, already asked on previous pages)

Do you really believe Jews and Moslems take some weird sadistic pleasure from circumcision?

Really larrygrylls, you must try to control this habit of misquotation. I find it rather boring having repeatedly to correct you.

What I said was "cutting bits off babies for no physical benefit - just their own satisfaction".
Nothing there about weird sadistic pleasure.

It's interesting though that those words came to your mind :(

I just don't understand why God would put a bit on and then want it cut off.

SirChenjin · 28/11/2015 21:12

God is a man made construct (well, person made)....

SirChenjin · 28/11/2015 21:13

That probably should have been Gods are

PoorFannyRobin I do not see any FGM apologists on this thread

I do see people understanding that the cultural oppression of women has allowed such a barbaric tradition to carry on

no one has defended the horrendous mutilation of young girls and women

I really dislike this thread for many reasons, FGM will not disappear because of a law. There will probably be a British girl in agony while this thread has been going. It is not a tick box FGM passed let's move on too next cause and use FGM as an example. In a culture (not religion) which butchers women the reality is the same culture women will also be half the worth. If we compare the two then we can also reduce the impact in a culture where women can be seen just above the cattle, whats the problem if men go through the same.
