To eat her chocolates?

Dd turned 3 recently and was given a box of chocolates by a family friend.

She doesn't know she was given them and it would only end in tears anyway when she isn't allowed to eat the entire box in one go so WIBU to just eat them on her behalf?
Later once she is in bed and I'm curled up watching a film?

Honestly OP if you don't think it's a suitable gift for your child (and you're quite entitled to do that), then just replace it for her. Either an equivelant value of more suitable sweets / chocs, money in her piggy bank or a toy. Message the gift giver if you like and say "hi, thanks for the gift, DD isn't keen on that sort of choc would you mind if I eat them and replace with X?".

My DS will eat most things but I doubt he'd eat filled chocs (as these probably are).

Can you just choose 2 or three she might like and give them to her

I'd make a few little bags up and give her one every now and then, over the next few weeks.

I cant imagine a 3 year old liking them.

I think I'd have to eat them and get her a replacement that's a bit more suitable for a 3 year old. my 3 year old wouldn't eat them, he'd just spit them out and make a giant mess

I don't think you should eat them - that's just mean
I don't think she should have them - she's too young

So I'll do you a big favour - I'll eat them

My DD is allowed to share our special boxes of chocolate. She is allowed one or two at a time. She enjoys us all picking out a chocolate and then everyone sharing them together.

Why not try sharing them as a family?

Hmmm, there's seems to be some division over whether scoffing a child's chocolates is acceptable parenting or not....

I will keep a few of the plainer ones for her. Honestly think she wouldn't eat most of them. And agree that thornton's are pretty generic these days not gonna stop me eating them though!

Have you never heard of chocolate tax?? I'm afraid it's your duty to apply the said chocolate tax liberally in this instance and also give your dd a couple of chocs too (less the tax obviously).
My kids are older and won't comply as easily as a 3 yo, I think they find the idea most unfair. Tough.
