To not want to keep Gel nails on any longer

Another odd one I'm afraid, but you Mums always seem to talk sense and I always respect your opinions. I kind of think I know the answer and suspect that I'm going to reneging on a deal if want them taken off.

For those of you that don't know, I'm actually a very happily married guy, who crossdresses. My wife has recently taken a course on applying GEL nails and when she first started I obviously suggested that she practice on me. No problems there as she would take them off either the same or the following day.

She found a new brand that is somewhat cheaper than the OPI ones that she normally uses, and bought some to try. She did mine for me on Friday as I was going away for the weekend, on the condition that I keep them on until they start to peel or chip. This I thought would be 3-4 days, but apparently they could last for 7-10 days! Whilst I retired early and work isn't therefore a problem, having glittery raspberry-coloured nails for another week is!

I know it was a deal, but I guess I was just keen to have my nails done and didn't think to query how long they would last. Am I really being unreasonable to want them taken off????

I have no huge problem with keeping them on, apart from that I won't be comfortable doing my regular "guy" things.

So is the whole cross dressing thing a secret then?

If so the nails were never a good idea as they last for days not a few illicit hours.

You might have them on for nearly 3 weeks then :) tell her to google them and specifically talk it through with the ladies on salongeek, it is really reeeeaaally not recommended

lol.......it's not a secret as such Bearbehind. My family and some friends know, but not everyone. Besides, it takes me much longer to get ready to go anywhere as Rachel!!!

What's wrong with bluesky? (wearing it now)

Nothing wrong with it Griphook and it's holding up very well, we're just trying to see how well it lasts compared to OPI, as it's considerably cheaper.

ahbollocks: Tania will be happy if it lasts 10 days, but it appears as though I'm stuck with beautiful nails until next Monday! Oh well, I should be more careful what I wish for in future!! lol

Had mine on a week and it's just started to chip. It won't last 10 days so don't worry

I don't really get the point of this thread.

Either you're happy cross dressing and the nails are part of it or it's still a bit taboo in which case the nails were never a good idea Hmm

Maybe he doesn't want to be Rachel everyday Bear doesn't seem that strange to me.

Or maybe Rachel wanted a chat about her fancy nails? Again, not unusual.

Rachel maybe you should've posted in style and beauty if that was the case. Smile If not then yanbu to expect to take the nails off when you want to not when your wife says you can.

Don't worry Bearbehind as it's all pretty well resolved. I signed up for seeing how long these would last, compared to OPI and I'm stuck with them. It's not completely a bad thing, as I'm very lucky to have such an understanding wife in the first place and I don't want to appear ungrateful or mean by having my fun for the weekend, and then going back on a deal when that's over. I guess I should have just talked it through with her before posting, but was worried she might take it the wrong way.

Worst case scenario is that I have to stay away from people that don't know about Rachel for a few more days. Best case scenario is that I'll enjoy my nails and go shopping!!

Thanks Coumarin. You were right about me not wanting to be Rachel for another week or so, but it could be less if they start to chip. All sorted now though and I think I would have been unreasonable, given the circumstances. :)
