That's what my son's new tattoo on his chest says. It supposed to finish ..."than a loaded gun".

Thoughts please?

Well I would guess that he's just trying to express his pain at being dumped.
I'm not sure I find it offensive or misogynistic tbh.
How old is he? Did I miss that bit.

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Pretentious twaddle trying far too hard to be cool basically.

lljkk
i am odd too, thats how i read it.

I read it as 'the opposite sex' is dangerous. Or falling in love.

Friend of my DS1 has a tattoo on his upper chest - visible through an open necked shirt or low necked tshirt - that says:
"If you can read this, turn round and bend over"
Classy Hmm

lack of self-respect isn't the only reason people sleep around deal and 'slaggy girls' shows such a lack of empathy.

I see what you're saying lljkk, I doubt he thought far enough ahead to realise that it could be seen as misogynistic. quite frankly, to me it says he feels he's been fucked over and made a decision which he'll probably regret eventually. only a tattoo though, hardly the end of the world. if everyone went digging through the pasts of potential partners, there'd probably be much worse 'red flags' than this.

i kind of agree with the tattoo msg. A woman (another human being) can break your heart. A gun can only hurt you physically.

I'll hide thread because I'm always the odd one out.

It's good of him to give women a warning of what they can expect from him, I suppose.

Oh dear, that's a very cringeworthy tattoo. I wouldn't want to date a guy who had that tattooed across his chest. There's something a bit Elliott Rodgers about it :(

A friend of mine is a tattoo artist who specialises in 'cover ups' and the stuff she does really doesn't give even a hint of what was underneath originally. Just saying.

I would point blank refuse to touch a guy the second I saw that - no matter how lovely he was - but I suppose he could attract a lot of slaggy girls who don't respect themselves with it. If that's what he wants.

Tinkly, South Africa is the rape and sexual assault capital of the world (also a world leader in child abuse). They didn't and don't need racism to be misogynist Sad

Get him to have it made up as a t-shirt instead (I'd say this about most tattoos tbf).

A woman is more dangerous than a loaded gun, especially when you have no idea of how to handle her.

That tattoo just makes you look like a wanker. Which you may well end up being for as long as you have that tattoo.

Well done mate >slow hand clap

That song lyric though! Are South Africans turning to misogyny now that they're not allowed to be racist anymore? It is utterly vile.

Or

A woman is more dangerous than a man when she is dressed like Catwoman

??

Report
vrtra · 11/07/2014 16:45

I hope he is reconsidering the second part... It could be ok with just what he has already, in a "female of the species is more deadly than the male" sort of way. If I were in his shoes I'd be looking at having it altered though rather than finished....!

Love the Catwoman suggestion! Genius!

I thought BigFootFiles suggestion was at least reasonable, but my 18 year old DD has made sick noises and said she'd be off like a shot.
