Horse poo update (for those who care)

Today I was in my garden admiring the lovely weather and I got a waft of stink coming over into my nostrils. I walked around the patio trying to smell where it was coming from and it led me to the neighbours fence.

Went running upstairs into my bedroom and looked out the window and there it was. The big pile of shit sitting on their grass in the sunlight. So they took.

They don't have roses so God knows what they plan to do with it.

Anyway, I'm not suprised it wasn't the horse rider who picked it up. She had no intention to either, the cheeky cow.

Design better horse nappies. Well, not personally if that's not your bent but, better horse nappies would be designed if there were more demand for them, which there should be.

Grin. Ermm, no. I don't think so.

Horse poo is the least offensive poo I've ever experienced.

Shit happens!

Not walking 4 or 5 miles with a wheelbarrow and shovel to ensure that some idiotic fuckwit remains perfectly happy in their bubble of twatishness is not lazy. As pointed out - it is decomposing vegetation - just like other compost that has likewise been through the digestive tract of an animal (just a much smaller one).
Anthropocentric fuckwittery extraordinaire.

I am a dog owner whose dog loves eating horse poo. I never stop him as it makes his poo smell more like horses which is much more preferable!

Two horse owner/road rider opinion coming up...
Will try not to repeat anything already said.

I started my riding career in Inner London with only local parks, no fields, for riding in. It is only since I have been lucky enough to have my own yard in a rural area that I have encountered any anti-horse rider folk, the city people always seemed happy to see us!

As for the smell, poo dries out quickly and loses it's smell. I'm currently trying to perfect my poo "briquette" system, for burning on my OPEN fire. My house does not smell of horse poo.

The smelly hosey people in the supermarketr? They smell of horse WEE....the clingy ammonia from mucking out, especially straw beds.

Pick up the poo and put it on your garden instead of driving to the garden centre and buying a big plastic sack that's been made industrially elsewhere and driven miles.

Call it extreme local fertiliser.

I'm not sure how that's supposed to be better than smelling of horse poo Confused

Its not. Thats the point. Wee smells quite bad, whilst horse poo smells ok.

This is like those eternal smoker vs non-smoker debates :)

Horse poo might smell ok to horse lovers or garden lovers but actually it smells like poo to me. I appreciate all the reasons why riders can't or won't or don't need to pick up poo but part of me wishes they would.

Oh no, I know smoke smells disgusting. And I smoke. And you have to admit horse poo smells better than dog poo. Or not?

No I don't think it does smell better, sorry

Grin

I live in the countryside, surrounded by all kinds of shit smells and I'm kind of live and let live about it all.

There's just nothing magical or delightful about horse shit.
