Sorry not a yabu but couldnt find chat on the app.

Sil is making a big fuss about her nearly 5yo needing a nap after lunch trying to dictate to mil when she serves dinner and we are wrong because we stayed at pil last night (despite it being so we can help this morning and go visit DH GF in his nursing home).

My ds was 2 last week he wont be napping, DN is at school she doesnt need to bloody sleep surely?

She is a twat who is not ruining our day Angry

Haha yes they have been washing things all day in the machine and also the bathtub as there are no laundrettes etc open today to sort the duvet out!

The dog also ate dd's breakfast but luckily we had loads more so we could make some extra for her :)

No arguments as such, although that's only because dh never rises to his dm's pathetic attempts at starting one. For eg, she sent him a text last night, asking him why he washes her hands after handling her dog, since she doesn't feel the need to wash her hands after stroking our rabbits! Hmm ? That offends her apparently.

I tell you what we must be pretty frigging perfect if that's the most offensive thing that we do!

I'm just about to batter the MIL to death with my laptop. She's been whittering on for (checks watch) 3 hours now. It's like having tinnitus.

Oh, and playing christmas songs on her iPad at full volume because she's too fucking stupid to work out how to turn the sound down.

I'm about to have an argument with my neighbours! My whole flat is vibrating with the sound of their new bass speaker. My 2 year old DTs are crying because of the noise Confused

No arguments yet, but Mil a bit frosty when I asked if we needed another dessert and suggested I could whip up a mousse (she is hosting).

So glad it's not just me. I'm currently upstairs so I don't have to deal with over-excited five year old being a little so-and-so and dh pandering to her every whim and then when I politely requested he stop butting in and let me deal with her behaviour he walked out. only to the local shops to buy washing up liquid but even so. Dd2 is plugged into her headphones ignoring us all. Don't blame her. Oh and yet again he bought me some sodding hotel chocolat chocs which I don't like. it's all going a bit shit this Christmas. Seriously thinking of moving out and having Christmas alone next year.

No rows, but it's only me and mother this year and mother has gone into her Cooking Frenzy (was at it before I even got up this morning) preparing for tomorrow when the daughter who has produced children is coming home, and is buried in saucepans, clouds of steam, hot ovens and washing up. She will do this ALL morning, then wash it all up, and then sleep all afternoon because she's exhausted. I think she's enjoying herself, it's hard to tell. Mostly what she's talking about is tomorrow, which is clearly what she's thinking of as 'proper Christmas'. In previous years we've plotted to prevent her doing this because you just can't have any kind of day with her or get her to do anything else once she's hit the zone, but if this is what makes her happy at Christmas so be it..... I tried to cook here, I've tried helping, she isn't having any.

I sat with her as long as I could in the kitchen but have a heart condition so can't stay upright more than a couple of hours. At 11.30 I got to the point of feeling unwell enough to have to stop, and she's not going to stop cooking come hell or high water, so rather than lay alone in her living room have come home and turned to the internet to sulk in peace :P

No he works in the water industry, I think he's confused about 'water works'.

The presentation of this wonderful gift was, he snuggled closely to me on the sofa (after the biscuit presentation) placed his mouth near my ear, at this point I'm thinking Oh yes I get my present later how early can I get the kids to bed. He then whispers 'Your other present is I will pay for you to get your lady bits sorted out', 'Hey what? erm what do you mean?' his reply was 'You know, your lady bits' I'm thinking what labia trimming? Fix the hymen?, 'You know your bits, so you don't have the hassle every month'

I politely declined the offer, had a mouth full of tea and left the room before I decked him.

No arguments yet. But there is a definite iciness between DH and I, his pressie to me was 5lb of shortbread and a hysterectomy done privately. (I don't need one, I just complained about the 'curse')

Loopy, my heart goes out to you, how utterly bloody miserable Sad. His loss, you clearly know how to create a lovely Christmas, and I hope you do get to enjoy yourself in spite of him. And congratulations on your pregnancy!

No but if my husband doesn't stop playing marvel superheroes that I stupidly got him for Christmas I am going to murder him! We have guests due here in an hour and my mum doesn't look too pleased to be watching him take over the tv. I'm bored of Christmas songs so have put power ballads on instead Wink
Merry Christmas everyone!!! Grin
