Showed photo to DH he speculated he was 19. He looks very young and pretty fine too. Lucky man.

One of my closest friends looks that young and she's 50 too. She's Jamaican and claims, and I quote: "Black don't crack, sweetheart!". Ha! She's a caaaah. Smile

Wow indeed! Not nearly as impressive but my OH, a white Englishman, was 30-35 (can't quite recall the story) and buying carpet for his house when the salesman asked if his parents would be home to check the order details!!!!!!!

I am trying to remember the name of a black singer, who sang/sings beautiful love songs. He was on Loose Women a year or 2 ago and they said he hadn't aged at all. His reply was " Black don't crack". His name is on the end of my tongue but just refuses to come to me. Does anybody know?

Its a black thing? - I like it...!

Im 50 and dont look it, if anyone finds out my age theyre surprised. My siblings dont look their ages. Mum is 71 barely any wrinkles, same with dad. My OH is same age as me but looks younger than me (boooo). The guy in the pic is gorgeous Smile thats what I call mellowing like a fine wine...

Anecdotally, my FIL (who is black) is in his mid-forties and him and DP are mistaken for brothers constantly. Poor DP didn't inherit his glass-smooth skin much to his annoyance, he's been told he looks older than his dad and he's only 25. Gutted!

I'm 23 though and FIL answered my door to the over-friendly courier woman the other week, she looked at my bump and asked how long it was until our baby was here Hmm. I tried not to take it personally.

It's not because of the low melanin levels per se; it is because of sun damage to which people with lower melanin levels are more prone. So if you have, eg, been slapping on the sunscreen ever since you read an article in She back in 1992 about how 90 per cent of the skin damage we associate with ageing is in fact sun damage, you'll have circumvented that.

Genes help, though. I reckon genes are most of it.

I'd buy his whiskey for him.

I don't think he looks under 25, but he does look just fine. Grin

He is smiling in the photo in the Examiner and he still looks really young. He is wearing quite trendy clothes too.

Just noticed the story is the first in line of 'most read news' on the DM site. Do you think this thread is responsible for that?

Oof. I would have put him at 30, maximum. I wonder what he'll look like at 60?

I'm oriental and in my forties. I have recently been asked for identification when buying alcohol. It is genetic.

My dh is younger than me by 5 years, and is relatively youthful looking. So we don't look freakish together.

Non Mail link here www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/young-looking-bradley-dad-50-asked-6106402

My DP did the original story and confirms that yes Mr Brown does look young but not under 25 and that definitely is him in the pictures. DP is a bit bemused that this has got such large national coverage for such a non-story, it was a bit of an easy page filler for them. They also managed to get the right bottle of booze in it.

oh no....lots of indignant redheads!

I didn't make it up, it is because of the low melanin levels.

I'm eurasian and have been told that I'm aging well, at 50 I can pass for 38 - 42 in the right light Grin

ImperialBlether · 30/09/2013 23:02

I knew there would be loads of people on here saying they look young for their age!

That's actually nothing to do with the thread!

nancy66 my mum is a very very pale red-headed English rose who's just turned 73 and could pass for 50 something! It isn't just me that thinks so, people constantly comment. She never ever goes in the sun/drinks gallons and gallons of water, lives on carrots and has done yoga for forty years. I've sadly not inherited her 'habits' Blush
