When I was pregnant with ds2, I used to waddle downstairs and eat cambazola, great big bites, straight from the wedge, I just couldn't help myself, we had to stop buying it until after he was born

I avoided so many lovely cheeses over Christmas because of pregnancy, I might have to make a special trip RIGHT NOW to go buy some Brie if its definitely allowed! And of course a big french stick.

Thanks so much. Never thought that being pregnant would affect me too much diet wise as not really fond of wine/alcohol and don't smoke but giving up Brie and possibly champagne if I am pregnant at Xmas will be horrific!!

Thanks a million NotMost.
We've only got a crappy co-op where I live but it will definitely be worth a jaunt to sainsburys.

Coeur De Lion Brie is made from pasturised milk, as is the Sainsbury's Mild and Creamy variety. Not the Sainsbo's basics one though, don't eat that... or the TTD one.

When I was pregnant - last time was ten years ago, so my info isn't up to date I got pasturised brie from Sainsburys deli counter. I used to drive 45 minutes each way just to get hold of some.

Everybody keeps telling me about this pregnancy friendly pasturised brie, but I can't find it anywhere :(

YADNBU
Please eat another wedge for me.

I love the inside of brie, but I don't like the white edges... blurgh!

You can indeed eat it while pregnant, as boomerwang says, as long as it's pasturised Grin

Love, love, love baked camembert, shove some garlic and rosemary in there before baking and it's heaven - but there is that moment when you've finished and you realise you've eaten a whole cheese and half a french stick!

Yes you can eat it when pregnant, as long as it's pasteurised.

Or is there another reason you're not supposed to have it?

Mmm I need crackers to eat my Brie with but in doing frugal February and I'm not supposed to be buying. I'll have to wait until next week. The Brie in the fridge (whole wheel from Costco Grin) will taste even better by then anyway!

Omg Brie. Shit, can you not eat it pregnant? TTC soon. That would be a nightmare.

I bloody love Brie. Love it. Love it. Love it. So much so that I will only buy one wedge a year (at Christmas, of course), and make it last a full 2 days. Of course I eat the rind, too.

Oh, I want one now. I might make it my new vice instead of chocolate.

Has to be French Brie. The English stuff seems a bit flavourless and too... doughy? in the white part.

I love it with green grapes. I couldn't eat a whole wedge though, it's too rich. I'd feel sick :s

Awww Panda I couldn't have Danish Blue when I was incubating the DC Sad
I love cubes of Danish Blue with a rocket, walnut and apple salad.

WRT to brie-
Sainsburys Somerset Brie Grin.

I bought myself a small dish from Lakeland (with a lid) to bake Brie/Camenbert for Christmas. Lush with breadsticks.

Worra - it does sound disgusting, doesn't it? The Dutch hard cheese, not the Seriously Strong Smoky! Although now THAT sounds like a euphemism...

WorraLiberty · 04/02/2013 21:53

I meant are you sure it's not a euphemism? Grin

I know it's not on the same level because it's a spread (and very processed) but has anyone else tried 'Seriously Strong Smoky'? Holy cow! It's like porn in a cheese spread stylee!
