I spent my morning helping DD(3) learn the alphabet and some paint. She absolutely loves getting smeared in it. Then I took her to the doctor for our weekly check up as she has been ill lately. After that I took her to the park to cheer her up. For dinner we (DH too) went to a kiddie restaurant which she loves going to and playing with all the toys and the slides.

Spent the day with a very colicky 5wk old who screamed from 6am to 10pm - poor baba. Fully expecting tomorrow (today) to be as bad if previous weeks pattern is anything to go off. Stuck in the house as chat take him anywhere like this and a walk is out with how much ice is about here! (Me + ice is a bad idea, me + ice + pram is an even worse idea) :-)

Roll on the end of colic!

Well, it's tomorrow here so I'll tell you what I'm doing now, Friday in Oz - woke up 6.15, checked FB on phone whilst having cuppa in bed and had chat to cousin in UK about snow, decided we should swap one day's weather with each other. Got up, showered, dressed and put new sheets that I bought yesterday in the machine ready for changing bed tonight. Had nectarines, greek yoghurt and walnuts for breakfast (how Mediterranean of me). Tidied kitchen, hung out sheets, watered herbs, drove to work. Helped DH unload a sofa off the ute into our storage shed at work. It's for DD when she moves out. Had more cuppas, did work, reconciled petty cash for last six months and now it's lunch break and I'm on here, having painted my nails so I can't do any other work yet in case I mank them up.

Will be having a BBQ tonight and a one hour walk on the esplanade and then we have a long weekend for the Australia Day public holiday so more BBQ's and summer shenanigans. I like it here most of the time.

Mid afternoon here, kids still on school holidays. We went out to our favourite haunt which is an Education Farm Park. DS (8) and his mate headed straight into the (small and completely impossible to get lost in) woods to make huts ad didn't see them for next 5 hours except to gather food stuffs to take into their hut. DD (3) and friend alternated looking at, patting and feeding animals, playing on small play area and picnicing while my friend thoroughly enjoyed catching up with them. Kids now sitting on porch with iceblock and I am having a cuppa before contemplating dinner.
I love Summer in NZ.

I don't think I'm on your facebook... Initials are EMD?

And yes, I feel your pain... Got my op booked in for six weeks time and thinking about going carb free in the build up, to make up for the fact it is potato central.

Ah well, same as usual. Got up, went to work, worked, came home, ate supper, watched TV, then checked out MN on my mobile before going to bed. 2 hours later I'm still here .....

Giraffes, admit it, you just love the hospital food too much Wink

I'm sorry you're still in though, hoped you had been discharged by now.

Slept until 3:35pm, with a brief wakening to wail for my hot water bottle and kiss the children goodbye to school.

Moved to my computer chair and opened the post. Stood up and did a crazy dance because my appeal letter to the council to up our room allowance was successful, we now qualify for three bedrooms and the whole rent is paid in benefits. One less thing to worry about.

Did another little boogie for my £25 cheque because of how cold it's been.

Filled out some more of my DDs assessment form for Paediatrician. Wrote some notes for the meeting at school tomorrow with my social worker, Homestart, school wellbeing etc. Filled out a form for an assessment from the council for a disabled child.

Made some phonecalls, mostly arranging transport for a trip at the weekend and medical shite.

Spent a couple of hours upstairs getting the girl child to just settle and sleep. She was not having it.

Made my dinner eventually at 11PM (carer did the kids, but I'm slimming so wanted to do my own), and made some snacks for tomorrow (roasted veggies) and boiled some rice for my breakfast.

Played some computer games. Now going to drug myself and sleep, ready for this meeting tomorrow, and an attempt at swimming with my carer.

We got up late, it was a national holiday, had some breakfast, me and DD went to buy stuff for lunch and got the Hobbit on Dvd, came home, had lunch, went out again so DH could get his hair cut, came home, took DD swimming, had our dinner and went to bed.
Today will be marginally less interesting.

I cleaned the kitchen floor (half arsed), tidied the playroom, watched a film with the DC's as they were home from school, cried over my budget, made cauliflower crust pizza for lunch, pottered about as I had a headache, made beans and chips for dinner, put the children to bed with a bigger headache, broke the shower head so I had to wash my hair with the hose tube thing, cleaned up dog poo from the living room and caught up on the great comic relief bake off.

I lead an exciting life.
