As played by Richard Armitage and Viggo Mortensen respectively.

I don't think Thorin would even be that much shorter than me Grin

I've found the original designs for Thorin and company:

More true to the book, but it's understandable why they change it

OK ladies on Thorin Oakenshield's FB page - (which I have liked by the way). There is a photo of Thorin next to Boromir. I have to say Sean is just gorgeous yum yum - I want to blow that photo up poster size Grin.

I luff the lady dwarves. They make me feel good about myself, their worthy queen.

Iwanta, goodness me, I am thinking unholy thoughts about poor Fili and Kili now.

Pretzel, I rather like the dwarf ladies! Am pleasantly surprised. I wonder how much time they spend doing their hair. But this applies equally to the men. Except Thorin, of course, whose raven locks just fall about him so artfully in a fully natural way.

Check this out! Official dwarf women concepts! Unimpressive beards, but I like the fab one with blue lipstick.

And Autumn I'm pretty sure female dwarves have beards. I think you're the sexist one for assuming they were men. Maybe they were all females? Except Thorin, OBVIOUSLY.

Do I have to choose? Sad

I suppose Aragorn wins but only just. Hmm

I prefer captain Barbossa over Jack Sparrow...IDK why

SupermassiveLBD · 10/01/2013 19:30

Ew, Cap'n Sparrow has a weird appeal but Russell Brand is taking the dirty hairy meme a touch too far.

AutumnMadness · 10/01/2013 19:25

Good lord, Remus, what have you been smoking tonight?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 10/01/2013 19:23

Nobody has mentioned Raven yet, if we're talking of hairy and slightly dirty looking men. And of course, Jack Sparrow. Russell Brand anyone? :)

Super, it's true! I read it on Wikipedia! (and in the massive appendices to the LofR, which I all read, but a long time ago).

Yeah, but in my twisted mind, Tolkien did not make the dwarves and the rest of the Middle Earth + Valinor up. He just writes about them like a historian or an ethnographer. Sick, I know.

The parody seriously rocks. Did anyone else hear Sir ian's voice in their head as they read it?

Talking of female dwarves, what are these Betty Butterbuttocks rumours, Mr A?

That's Tolkien's fault I think, not the dwarves...

Report
AutumnMadness · 10/01/2013 18:49

The only thing that worries me, ladies, is that the dwarves might be rather sexist. The annals of the dwarves mention only one woman - Dis - and only because she was Fili and Kili's mum. Hot but sexist . . .

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin @ the parody. Sniggering away here.
