Shouting, snd generally fecking about Outside every night especially on the bloody weekend!!!! DH says I am making it out to be bigger than it is and I need to chill out . But no matter how much I try it bothers me! Also makes me a bit anxious and palpatatey esp if DH is out

I asked a group of teens to stop swearing in the park the other day. I was firm without being rude. I said "If you're old enough to be using that language you're too old to be in the park. I don't want my boy picking up your bad habits thank you." Got lots of muttered apologies. I work with teenagers and most times if you fairly call them on the issue they'll be ok. I used to tell kids that congregated in the shelter opposite us to move along, they always did.

We once had an argument that went on for over an hour and had me and DH in stitches.

I asked a large and intimidating looking group of boys to stop swearing on the train the other day. The were being really vulgar but when I asked them to stop they were very apologetic about it and nearly managed to refrain from swearing for the rest of the trip. They were like a big group of Kevin and Perry's.

I don't mind, if they get to loud I just do a oi you lot come on there's a park around the corner piss off there.

Most teenagers are lovely and will move. Doing a teacher voice works wonders to.

Thank you! Stupidly it never occurred to me just to ask them.... It's not that the kids wake up...., its more that it makes me anxious that they might/ or situation outside will get out of control. It hardly ever does do for some reason I irrationally feel threatened..... It's doing my head in as its more about my reaction than the actual problem!

99% of teens are actually quite nice really and most will say sorry and shuffle off :D

Tbh before I had kids I was of that school, but since having DC have turned into a right wimp about any kind of "conflict" near the house ..... I need to chill out dont I ?

I don't mind it on a weekend but after about 10pm midweek, I normally go out and ask them to move down the road a bit.

They're normally very understanding if you say you've got little ones trying to sleep.

YANBU, I feel the same. In my case it's University students just starting the new year, so I know in the main they are nice kids but the noise really jars on me. Especially at 3am when they are staggering home (and they're not such nice kids after x amounts of vodka and redbull!)

Why don't you say oi can you move along/keep it down please I have dc asleep. That works for me and I have a bus stop that they used to congregate around.
