AIBU?

Too think that a roomba should make life easier...not spread dog shit about????

I've just walked in from work, expecting my lovely roomba Bertha to have cleaned everywhere, to her usual high standards, and be sitting smuggly in her docking station.

Insted I've came in to find all my downstairs floors covered in dog shit! The Roomba has carefully spread it everywhere, including the bloody hall.

Fuck!

Actually AIBU to get rid of the dogs insted?

Unfortunately yes it did...never even crossed my mind as its a long time since the dogs have left us a present.

Luckily its all wooden floors & lino in the loo/kitchen so it came off easy enough, but had to strip Bertha down, and soak her brushes, filters etc

I've also had to clean and disinfect the base of DD's spinning Zebra thingy as Bertha mounts it and gets rid of all the dog hairs...usually a blessing but yesterday...

I left it over night to dry, and this morning put her back together, and she seems fine!

Glad shes alive and kicking as THAT would have been the final straw!

I saw a video of exactly this on Youtube recently. Did it really happen to you?

I´m afraid I also laughed.

I´m hoping that you don´t have carpet!

I too almost peed myself laughing at this! :o

I wouldn't have if I had to clean it all up though! Boke!

This is why I wouldn't leave my darling Bobski in the room with the dog while I'm out

My dogs are short to medium haired dogs, but they seem to shed lots of hair, and it copes just fine. I do empty the bin (which is quite small) daily, but that takes about 30 seconds.

It's nice to be be able put 18mo DD straight down on the floor, without having to feel guilty at her making snow angels out of the hair drag the hoover out all the time.

Funniest post I've read in a while! How does the roomba cope with doghairs? I am sorely tempted...

Honestly they are amazing! Mine is scheduled to clean just before I get in from work, or at 7 am on my days off. I just empy the little bin, and once a week clean the brushes.

Its the same as a washing machine etc You can do it yourself but this is so much easier. Also it encourages you to keep the floor reasonably clear so she can get on with it.

They have their own little personalities, and become part of the family!

She does the bedrooms/bathroom weekly, but as the downstairs is so clean, less dirt and dog hairs get traipsed up there, which was a bonus I hadn't considered (my dogs stay downstairs)

I only wish she could do stairs!

Aaaw. Not Bertha's fault though. She was only trying to help....

House now clean. Floor mopped and dried twice. Not sure if I've killed Bertha though as I wasn't thinking and put her removable bin under the tap and I'm not sure if there are any electrical bits there...but there is a miniscule sign indicating you should wipe it not dunk it in water...of course I did not see it 'cos it was covered in shit.

I am going rock quietly in the corner with my G&Tcup of tea.

You poor thing.

I think you're a star to have such a sense of humour about it,and I think DH owes you a bottle of wine/box of chocs (delete as applicable) for dealing with it.

I think if I came home to that I'd cry tbh.
