I am obsessed with Fireman Sam's surname

Everyone else has a surname, why not Sam?

We know he's uncle to the Jones twins, but not whether he's brother to Charlie or Bronwen (assuming they're married and she took Charlie's name of course).

Perhaps he's Sam Samuels, like Tom Thomas.

Or maybe Sam is his surname. In which case I need to know his first name.

Perhap's he's Station Officer Steele's son, and so everyone calls him Sam to avoid unnecessary confusion.

Come to that, what's Trevor's surname?

DS2 has been up since 4:55 and we've been watching his new Fireman Sam DVD on loop. Can you tell?

Bob has no surname. I've searched extensively for it in the past and come up blank.

Fireman Sam started off in life not only in Wales but in Welsh. In Welsh his name is Sam Tan, Sam Fire. So not only does he have a surname but his name rhymes. Unfortunately it does not work out so well in Saesnaig!

Tell you something else that's bothering me now. The Wiki page said that it's been hinted that Penny and Elvis have got a thing going on. But surely she's perfect for Sam?

And if Sam and Charlie are brothers and Sam is Peyton-Jones, then why is Charlie just plain old Jones?

CinnabarRed, probably because his wife double barrelled with Jones so he dropped the Peyton bit.

I love how involved we can get with cartoon characters lives Xmas Grin

BTW, I've had amaretto tonight and I'm still EBF. As long as you're sober enough to look after a baby you don't need to worry about your BAC.

Do you not find Sam a bit too bossy and domineering to be sexy? I'd go for Charlie if only he wasn't married (and a fictional animated character).

Why are you looking for Fireman Sam on the interwebz to post such weirdyness, SamJones

You are telling people to stop a thread that had in fact stopped 3 years previously.

As someone else has said, it is a Welsh language programme translated into English. In Wales his name is Sam Tan which sounds a lot better than Fireman Sam.

I'm only commenting on a zombie thread to say that the old-style Fireman Sam, whether in Welsh, English or Gaelic (Sam Smalaidh), is embarrassingly superior to any modern souped-up edition. So what did happen to Bella Lasagne, then?
