To completely pan my FORD Dealership on here and wherever people might listen?

They are lying sacks.

I thought I had recovered from my experiences with a dodgy builder. But no. Consistently come up against money grabbing bastards who take take take and leave us high and dry.

Which is why we used a Ford Dealership. Thought, oh no, we won't get treated like scum on their shoes. no no no no. We will be treated respect, yes have to pay for it but it will be worth it. We will use them to service the car we bought from them (secondhand), and at some point in the next couple of years, when ready to upgrade we will get another C-Max to replace this. Using this dealership.

But No. We were wrong. Badly wrong. After dragging out diagnosing various problems with our car for weeks and weeks and weeks and then, when it is finally out of warranty, pretend they never knew about the problem and BAM £400 bill for broken air conditioning.

This is the final, and biggest straw in a catalogue of problems with them since we took the car in almost 2 months ago.

They have lied, ignored, delberately avoiding communicating, left us carless for days and now we have a bill we cannot afford for a problem that was always there.

Fuckers.

I have vented. And if you wish me to name and shame them I bloody will. I am so so angry and unhappy.

I thought I would feel better for venting but no. I feel.

completely frustrated. They have not even had the decency to call us and tell us. Despite us talking to them 5 times between 4-5:30pm to find out where the heck our car was, after they called to say would be with us at 2pm. then 3pm. AND, they haven't done any of the work they were meant to!!1

Report them to Trading Standards. Its the only way of getting some leverage and getting them to put it right. No business likes Trading Standards or Health & Safety nosing about.

sorry you're having a shit time. I would dispute that bill it's ridiculous for them to take so long to sort out the problem.

Which dealership is it (nosey). DPs dad work for them as a driver hope it's not his one

Angry for you, Pavlov.

Have you been able to speak to the manager? Or is it the manager who's done this to you?

If I were you I'd start a thread on Moneysavingexpert.com and see if anyone has any advice - there's always someone on there who knows something useful about consumer stuff.

Failing that you could always write to You and Yours on Radio 4, and shame them even more.

Hope you manage to get something done about this.

blimey you know I might have to

I am just so so sick of fighting companies All The Time. It is constant. Virgin attempted to screw us over by providing appalling service, lying, slapping charges on for services we should not have/did not want etc. It took 4 months to resolve. In my favour. Got the bill wiped clean and contract ended (was in alleged 18 month contract). Same with Sky before that. And the bank for ridiculous charges for being over o/d for 28p for 1 day.

If it is one in Cumbria I know the feeling! My husband ended up speaking to them when they did this with us and threatened to report them directly to Ford. The work was then dine under warranty

Wormshuffler · 29/09/2011 20:57

I hate them too. I took ours in for a service and they "apparently" couldn't get in the bonnet. The lock had broken they said. To fix it they...........broke and replaced the front grill, changed the entire locking mechanism, replaced the ford badge ?! All this leaving me unable to afford the bloody service I took it in for!!
I will never use them again.

How is your building work now? was it a loft conversion gone wrong?

I'll throw VW Stourbridge in the the wanker car dealership mix.

I used to get mine serviced & MOTd at the Ford dealer I bought it from second hand. Every year it cost over £1k to get it through its MOT. Eventually I took it to a guy in the next village and he always gets it through its MOT & service for £250 max.

Unless you're bothered about reselling with full service history, it's not worth the extra imo.

speedy the manager is one of the liars. Let me give the biggest example.

2 Aug I phoned and outlined a list of problems (all seemed small at the time). Warranty ended 12 Sept. It took 2 weeks to get the car in to be looked at in the first place.

I gave them a written list of the problems which included (but had more than this)
Hissing noise inside vehicle at intermittent points. Continues for about 15 mins after car engine turned off (i sat in and checked. sad eh?!)
Small leak under car on drivers side, appears to be under drivers seat area. Noticed when engine has turned off for period of time.

The car has been in 3 times since this, for various reasons that I am still not entirely sure about. I thought this problem had been fixed.

This week it happened again. I called them yesterday (car already booked for this week) to tell them I needed this checked again. Spoke to a manager.

He said [para] (patronising) do you have air con? yes. ok the reason for this leak is due to an ice build up, it is perfectly normal, and if this did not happen you would get moisture in the car. nothing wrong with it.

Today. Oh btw your air con is fucked (by the driver who brought it back to us).

ochaye I have the pleasure of naming them. I hope it was not your dad that they decided to lumber with the job of informing us of the bad news upon delivery of our car to us at 5:45pm.

It is

VOSPERS PLYMOUTH.

This is heartening as we skipped buying a ford when went to test drive an s max last weekend. Got there and sold the model we had wanted to try but said they had another one, but was 18 month old and old style.

If it had just been that , it would be ok. But the warning lights were broken, it needed more oil and to top it all stank of sick (I have small child- I know the smell of sick in a car). Given this was the experience we had when they wanted you to £20k on a car , the shocking stories here make more sense.

Do you think if had liked it they could have got us one with a spec of not smelling of sick?

Friend DH had similar problems with a second hand pick up bought with 2 months warranty.

He wrote a letter informing them that they had 2 weeks in which to rectify the problem or refund the car or he would be taking them to a small claims court.

2 days later they rang, refused to speak to my friend as her DH car, spoke to me pretending to be her DH Blush and car was fixed for free in 48 hours. The offer of this was put in writing 'without predudice'. The usual thing when companies know they're wrong as they can fix the problem without accepting liability. Angry

Oh, can I call them for you - I have so far got £1378 back from various companies (£1136 was the car repair) when they've fucked up and refused to help.

I like a challenge!! YADNBU either.

Your air con might be fucked but it might not be anything to do with the moisture leak. In hot weather you do get condensation forming on the cold pipes which will drip off under the car.

You need to go above the service dept. Speak to the dealer principal and tell him you are taking it up with Ford themselves. It is completely unacceptable to report a problem continuously and the garage do nothing for weeks on end. It is bollocks that they couldn't find the fault. Cars aren't rocket science.

It might well be that they left it because they get paid more by you for fixing it than Ford would pay up under the warranty though. The hourly rate for customers will be a lot more than the hourly rate for internal warranty work. I have worked in a car dealership (not Ford!) and there's lots of tricks!

Have you written/emailed the Dealer Principle? Vospers Plymouth is a mammoth group of dealership - I'd write to their Chairman - his name is on their website.

Every time I've had a problem with a dealership, I've written to the Chairman/Chief Exec who usually seems to be the dealer principle. Invariably they're horrified, bollock someone and sort it out.

List names, times and details of every contact, copy the Chairman's PA in on the email and good luck!

Yes it is, i x-posted with you the mammoth dealership I guess that is why no-one ever knows anything about what work is being done/has been done.

They did not even know where my car was at 4pm. They had lost the car and the paperwork.
