warning: contains descriptions of mid childbirth vagina - you have been warned.
Dh thinks I am makin a fuss over nothing and should just forget it. I think that if it were reversed he would be just as mortified as I was/am.

I have had 4 children in the last 8 years. I am not so niave as to think that I am still pristine in the nether regions BUT during the last childbirth the midwife turned to the doctor who happened to be in the room at the time doing my blood pressure and said the following.

" no wonder she has never had any tears look its just hanging open ready".

I was actually at the time pushing a baby out but I manaed an indignant stare even so.

I am now pregnant and actually really dreading any midwife seeing me naked either before after or during the birth because I think I must have some freakish hanging vagina that makes people actually gasp when they see it.

DH assures me this isnt the case and thinks I am being ridiculously unreasonable to actually allow this to make me nervous about the birth. I think that if the roll was reversed and a doctor had commented say on the tiny size of his penis he may also be nervous about whipping it out again?

aibu to be nervous after this ? I know it wont change anything (as dh keeps reminding me) but he could at least show a bit of sympathy couldnt he!

No reason why your vagina shouldn't be expansive and looose in one situation and small and tight in another. Something I was told when expecting my son that impressed and stuck with me is that women would do well to remeber that men's cock's have the ability to be small and floppy or big and hard without tearing or breaking, so why shouldn't our vagina's have the same quality? Just because in labour your vagina changes to accomodate your baby's birth, doesn't mean it can't change back to be the pussy you and your husband know and love. Magical things fanjos, Atleast as magical as cocks anyway.

How horrible for you! I had a similar midwife at the very traumatic birth of my dd 9 years ago. At one point she stared up at me from between the stirrups and went "OH GOD! UGH! Did you have piles before?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes when I tell people this and the other things she said they ask me if she was really a midwife or was in fact an imposter!!!!
