He talks nonsense....we know this...he's a baby...ok. But today, I noticed he was gabbling away and what was he saying? I'll tell you....he was yelling..."Fack! Fack! Fack!" which DD immedately copied.

She's already got a weird Aussie accent..so it basically sounds like she's saying "Fuck, fuck! Fuck!" Hmm

I enjoy watching Baby Jake with my daughter. I hope she develops an amazing imagination with its help. Because that's what the program is all about. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Can't stand baby jake at all but ds managed to "swear" without Jakes input. Fox was fuck for a little while but the worst thing is he pronounced grandma as bugger! Don't ask me how but its been about a year. Poor mil just had to put up with it as he couldn't/wouldn't say grandma until very recently at the grand age of 3 1/2!
My most embarrassing moment was when he went through a phase of calling everything silly. Walking out of mil's house I told him to say bye to grandma and he shouts "silly bugger" instead. Just as a group of people walked past. Blush

My dd had a reading book called 'fun on the canal'. I had to get her to repeat herself a few times before I realised what she was saying...

Wait until they are older and playing skylanders. They talk nonsense too.

I swear to god one character shouts "wanker! wanker!" every time he defeats an enemy.

DD2 is blissfully unaware of this but teen DD1 sniggers with me every time she plays. It's got to be on purpose, surely?

Thankfully this wasn't about when my 2 were toddlers.
Didn't stop the awkward talking though....

Dd called socks, fox.
Fine until she would shout to have them taken off "fock off! Fock off!"

Ds said bugger for burger.
Bad enough but when combined with piss for please, it was pretty embarrassing Hmm

I think Baby Jake's mum and dad really need "The Talk" about contraception... 10 children with a possibility of 16 more to get through the rest of the alphabet is a bit Hmm

Come on Baby Jake's Health Visitor!!!!!

What a coincidence - I have never heard if baby jake but saw a shelf of dollies in home bargains yesterday. They were so disturbing I took a photo to scare my other half (our baby is due next week). As for what he was meant to be saying - I didn't have a clue!

the "goo goo gee ya" bit is the worst, I like the little dance the animated one does, but other than that, its rubbish, Fortunately, even my 2 year old is bored with it, so it doesn't bring down the 4 yo!

I think a lot of people are forgetting what childhood's about.
Not everything in a child's life is supposed to fast-track their development. They're allowed to have fun occasionally, and if you think your child's too old to watch Baby Jake, you know what to do, but the show's creative and a lot of fun. I really don't think it's deserving of this sort of slating. It's just for fun. I'll bet you can all remember shows from when you were kids which were real fun. Well guess what. You parents probably didn't like them that much.

Awful show, thankfully DD seems to be about as impressed as I am. Raa-raa is very popular though, and she tries to sing along. Unfortunately she sings it as "Raa-raa, Bugger, noise noise, lala"

She is also in the habit of waving to passing creatures and greeting them. "Hello dog" etc, except she pronounces squirrel as "ass hull" BlushGrin

When I first saw Baby Jake, I thought the opening sequence looked promising. But no, it's all just timewaster - a10 kids living in a windmill, they go through each in turn, but the show isn't about that, it's about the baby having silly animated adventures.

Yes, DS started saying nonsense words after Baby Jake as well. Funny that so many have noticed it, I thought perhaps it was just something they did at this age and it happened to coincide. He fixates on a sound - last week it was "bauk" and tacks it onto the end of sentences or replaces words with it - like your DS, Brynn! We get the "No I want bauk!" "You are bauk, Mummy!"

He is convinced that "Nibbles" is "Nipples" as well and won't be persuaded otherwise.

Thanks to this show ds2 is convinced the baby in my tummy is baby Jake. Will not Consider it could be a girl.

Talking on swearing he kept asking for a bloody icelolly. I was shocked and said I really don't think a lolly covered in blood would be tasty..... He looked confused and went without. Only a few days later when he asked again I realised bloody was him saying buzz lightyear Blush poor boy

Fucking show... DS has now started singing "Goggy Gia" rather loudly and obnoxiously at bed time... Hmm

Quite like Abney and Teal or whatever it's called...
