AIBU?

To want my flu jab even though I am sick?

I have missed out several times already, twice due to a cold, twice due to being unable to wait long enough in the clinic, then kids were sick, then Xmas... Just a litany of bad reasons for not having had it. It's only available on Tuesdays for some reason.

I now have bad throat, sore skin, shivers, cough etc, it might be 'flu but equally could be a bad cold. I want my jab. Clinic says no, not with a bug already.

Very scared of 'flu/ bad colds etc as I am likely to end up hospitalised with asthma. I know it's my own fault if I do have flu. But AIBU for wanting the jab today?

Clinic aren't being unreasonable.... You have a temp etc and they will not give it to anyone in those circumstances as it can be really nasty on top of an existing fever....

Because you have asthma they will be even more cautious - despite that's why you need it

The best thing you can do is stay home and get over your fever first - and avoid other people as much as possible so you don't catch anything else, then have jab asap

I know its really important to you - I am asthmatic and currently on my third week signed off work following a string of colds and bugs since end of October - every time I go anywhere to see friends etc I get another bug and so my asthma plays up, not severely but enough to stop me doing everything I should or want to do

Take care of yourself - hope you feel better soon
