Our assessment stage went on for ages and ages and ages (not entirely against our wishes, as we didnt' want to rush into it). Then suddenly all the paperwork had to be completely overnight.

The name change thread is a genuine thread Boston (I'm assuming!). It was mentioned here because I joked upthread about starting a name change thread to distract from a row here as those threads have caused a rumpus previously (when our regular troll was active)! Then 5 mins later one appeared - but they do tend to appear regular as clockwork!

Both our SW and DDs SW were very competent.
Some others we dealt with in passing were infuriating.

If choccy had started a thread on aibu about her managers poor organisational skills and how it was causing her undue pressure, you wouldn't expect a load of managers to jump down her throat saying YABU and unkind as I'm a good manager and I've got a lot on...

I've worked alongside sw for many years and had total respect for them. Then I became part of the 'process' where I have lost all respect for them. Many are judgemental and lack empathy. I could go on and on but I won't. Yes it's a hard job doesn't mean to say you can treat people badly.

Oh dear - I'm ever so sorry people. As I think most of you realised I genuinely just wanted a vent. I can't quite recall how I got to the title but it's something to do with SWs being able to do bugger all for 2 months and then want something doing the next day. Yeah something close to that anyway thank you to everyone for their support and when I can say anything I will - but until then I'll continue to use this board to connect with people who understand me best.

cupcakes have you actually read the posts on the first page?? Before the passing sw posted, there were 8 posts roughly and besides choccys only one reference to a social worker. Are you seriously suggesting that requires a private board for fear of passing offence?
I disagree, nothing here I've read has been aggressive or abusive but if you disagree, then report. All I've seen are posters sharing frustrations - in a board set up to allow us to do so. This is adoption. We can say what we like within the sites guidelines. And this is about us and our experiences, hence the me, me, me you mention. That's the very nature of the bloody site.
