Never underestimate the adopted child

When we adopted our little boy (as a 2year old) we were told that he would probably never finish school and maybe never even learn to talk. Today he graduated from university with a masters degree and can talk the socks off anyone. He has also brought lots of joy and laughter into our lives and the lives of many others. I am so glad we took a chance on him and he on us. You just never know.

What wonderful news, I bet you are so proud.
it is true, us adopted people just will not be kept down.
You sound so blessed and you have obviously worked hard at raising your ds.
So happy for you all. A shining example to others, and a lesson not to believe what you are told.
I too was /am severely dyslexic and when at school it was identified as remedial, they said this about me too and I have several quals at Higher level.
Here's to the rest of his successful life, what a credit to you

I read about that poor little boy who was killed by his mum and you look at his face and think" if you didn't love him, somebody else would", including me.

Adoption can be such a wonderful story. He's to you and your brilliant boy!

My two came to me when they were two and six (naively i didnt think about this as 'old' until someone told me!) labelled 'difficult to place'

Ha!!! (And twice 'Ha!)

They are both doing well, have proved more resilient to life's blows than many kids -we have gone through much more heartache than I would have been able to predict and certainly hoped for and we are still standing

And this year my daughter represented her country at her chosen sport...her will to win and determination not to be beaten coming though there!

Makes me tearful and so proud of her
