Given the situation in Ukraine, I'd like a PM who will prioritise human lives over animals.

It’s a trivial matter. It is emblematic of the shit show bojo has cultivated.

It’s also an indicator of the country we live in and the dummies who keep him as his mates in power.

But in the meantime all the focus is on a trivial matter, rather than addressing real life matters that could be the difference between people eating or heating, we will all have a chance at the next general election to have or say, get on with running the country

Lies and breaking the rules you put in place aren't trivial matters in my book. I don't want the country run by a liar.

Thing is *@Unphased* - with all those things you mention going on I would really rather those at the helm were law abiding people with an ability to tell truth from lie….

Exactly. If they're utterly amoral I have no faith in their managing the other stuff.

I’d rather Parliament concentrate on running country, inflation going sky high, gas and Electric to at least double in price later this year, housing unaffordable if there is any available, roads full of pot holes, Covid still lingering, Russia maybe about to invade, etc etc, all seems far more important than worrying about was it a party or a work do, I know loads of people that broke actual Covid rules, I would imagine most people did in one way or another

Absofuckinglutely.

Honestly, I can't be the only one who doesn't give a shit about the indoor gatherings, the garden parties, the cake... it's done now. Let's stop hearing about it every 5 minutes and try and get more important things on the agenda.

I agree, the government should be focusing on other things. That's why he needs to resign immediately.

He has not followed the rules he made and should resign so we can have a decent leader. Instead we have a proven liar and rule breaker whose only priority is saving his own skin. It's terrifying to think of what he will do to stay in power.

They knew about the energy crisis last year and they partied instead of doing something about it. I want a government who I can trust to work hard for our country. Not a bunch of lying, corrupt, incompetent party dudes.Hmm

Your standards seem very low @unphased.

Sick to death of hearing about the bloody things.

And the hypocrisy is astounding. 2 years ago people were calling for Dominic Cummings’ head on a block, now he’s being haled as some kind of paragon of truth and integrity.

And let’s not pretend that this stuff has only just emerged. The media were well aware of the Christmas parties last year, but it suited their agenda not to publish the information then because they didn’t agree with people celebrating over Christmas and knew that if they published the fact there had been a Downing Street party people would have been less likely to stay at home.

This year the media were against any restrictions so oh look, suddenly the pictures emerged.

In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if the Sue Grey report has already been seen by the press but they have decided not to publish it, and will instead leak it a bit at a time.

The government have much to answer for, but the press have been utterly reprehensible

@AlternativePerspective

When you say 'the media' do you mean to say that The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Spectator, Private Eye, Sky News, The BBC, GB News and LBC, etc. etc. all got together and agreed to all withhold information because they unanimously felt people should not celebrate over Christmas. And now they (meaning every single person who works at these establishments in every capacity) are all in agreement that they're against restrictions, so they're publishing it? Do you really believe that makes any rational sense or would even be feasible?

As I’ve said before, not a Tory, I just think it’s a trivial matter compared to what’s coming inflation, energy prices etc etc,
Get on with running the country

It's not that binary though is it. Not to the people that died. Its also about integrity of which there is none in this government. Not even a pretence of it.

I think they usually all act for themselves or the parties rather than for us

@Unphased If they can't stick to the rules they themselves set, but can lie about sticking to the rules they themselves set, and can lie about lying about sticking to the rules they themselves set, and are now hurling all of their energy into propping up this government, then how can they provide us with any hope that they can tackle any other problem greater than how to get booze into Downing Street?

How can anyone have any faith in them to act in the best interests of anyone other than themselves? It is shabby, contemptible, and insulting.

It is so not about attending a work party. Of course it’s not. That’s a very obtuse way of thinking.
