I went back to work in July after mat leave and went straight to working from home. A combination of very very poor mental health, a pandemic and huge amounts of stress about my home life has meant my performance is shit. There's no other word for it tbh. I've had breakdowns at work, I've had time off for stress. I've had help and improvement plans and I fully expected this to all culminate in my dismissal.
I had a call from my line manager today running something by me, there's an opening in our contact centre and would I like to move there. No change in terms or salary. I actually cried with relief. I've done contact centre work before so I know I can do it and I've worked in the business for years so I know what I'm talking about. I'm so pleased! I really feel looked out for, rather than using my performance as a reason to get rid of me (which they would be well within their rights to) they've found somewhere else for me. It's not known for being a great company to work for but I've got a great manager on my side.
I just wanted to share my overwhelming relief.
