Weighed myself 1st time in a year

I've just weighed myself for the 1st time in a year. I've gone from 250lb (17 stone) to 140lb (10 stone). I knew my clothes where getting baggy but that's something else.

I'm sorry I don't mean this to be nasty/braggy I'm just in shock.

They are quite baggy round the arse and thigh area. Think the tumble dryer has a lot to answer for.

Congrats on the weight loss.
Amazing!

Something must be wrong with the sizing of those trackies, though - they look pretty tight now - how on Earth did you fit into them when there was seven stone more of you?!

For all those saying op must be crazy tall to be a size 18 at 18st.. I'm also quite similar and 5ft 7! Everyone carries weight differently.

Absolutely this!
I don’t know why people keep saying how tall OP must be!
People sound very jealous on this thread. Well done OP!

Bloody well done op!

I'm just under 17st (and also a size 18 for some posters who seem to think that would be impossible!) and I'd love to get to where you are.

@IndieKate

Did ye aye

Oh is this the standard hackneyed response now? How pathetic. Do you have a little group to rush back to report to?

I think this is awesome and I am hoping posting on here gives me some inspiration through the interwebs!!

Congratulations!!!

I don't understand how you've been consciously trying to lose weight, we're quite large to start with and yet went the best part of a year without being intrigued at what you've lost/how much you weigh. Surely noone would do that?

We’ve had a thread today about breastfeeding hedgehogs that are tassels and another about recruiting the NDN’s DH as a “cuddle buddy”.

I was just assuming it was wacky week on MN.

Full moon innit

Alot better I'm less tierd all the time. I'm finding the little things don't worry me as much too. I've found myself dancing more too. With the kids more physical play. I'm actually brushing my hair most days too before it just ran wild. I cant wait to get out and do some things the weight has always kept me back from. I have found though I'm always cold now without the extra padding 🤣

Well done. Will be amazing for you to come out of lockdown feeling like a new woman! I'm proud of myself for losing the stone I put on this last year. Takes commitment and effort. Make sure you work hard to keep it off so you can fully enjoy your youth :)

Congratulations on your weight loss op!!!

I don’t think your stomach looks bad at all! I would try not to lose any more weight right now though as your skin can only shrink back so much. So maybe try and maintain for a few months and then if you still want to lose eight do it then.

Well nothing is open atm. I normally just shop at primark. I don't know about buying stuff online as I don't know my new size. Thank you everyone. Just need to learn how to love that belly now.

@Namechangeforthewin

Smaller portions to start with and honestly skipping meals I'm not going to say I ate healthy or only salads. exercise Joe wicks every morning with the kids helped. Not buying junk food too now that I get it delivered I only eat at meal times most days no snacking at all. I don't drink alcohol. I changed coffee for water. If I felt hungry I'd have a drink of water and if half hour later I was still hungry I would eat something. Most of the time I was thirsty not hungry it seemed. We have lovely walking area behind our new house too so 2 miles a day every day. I'm breastfeeding too so I'm sure that helped some. It also seems now that I'm happier I seem to be less hungry. I do self care too even if it's just little things. Once I did a magic combo of clean sheets, new onsie, a bath bomb and a book. Of course with a to not disturb notice to OH and kids.

Well done OP that's brilliant! You must be really pleased. I went from 17.5 stone to 11.5 stone over 2 years. I was a size 22/20 and when I got to a size 14 I didn't realise either as I was wearing size 18 and it seemed to fit fine, it wasn't until I tried on a 14 I realised that was my new size.

Will you be treating yourself to some new clothes in a smaller size?

@seasidefishwife

I believe you've lost the weight but I don't believe you, or your DH or anyone else,didn't notice the extent of it. You've lost the equivalent of a small adult adult female.

Nah. DP's lovely, but it would take him about four years to notice if I had a leg chopped off, never mind weight loss.

glares at size 24 pyjamas bought for Christmas 2019 that look like loon pants
