How big are your thighs?

Inastatus · 11/02/2021 12:14

I measured my thighs today as I felt that they were getting even more chunky than usual. They’ve always been the part of my body I like least and now my right thigh is measuring 24” and my left is 23”! Is it usual to have one bigger than the other? My jeans still fit but are a bit tighter than normal and I’m worried about chafing when it gets warmer and I start wearing dresses again.

I did start couch to 5k but have had to give up as I injured myself but I really need to up my exercise and lose about a stone in weight. I might have to get the bike out ...

@PurpleDaisies

Don’t forgot op, this thread is most likely to attract people who are happy to share their thigh size. That’s likely to be people with smaller thighs.

@PurpleDaisies - yes, that’s true. I’m not that bothered to be honest and it was more the difference between the two that I was interested in.

@JorisBonson - that’s awesome!

Never measured them. They're enormous because I used to shot put for my county and I lift weights. They're the strongest part of me and I love them.

@redheadwitch

Mine are 26inches at the thickest part. Im 5'4 and a size 16. Im certainly bottom heavy but Im not concerned that I may have abnormally large thighs.

22 on the left, 21.5 on the right. I am 5'7. I also thought my right side was dominant Confused. Off to do more reps on the right side then...

It’s absolutely normal to have thighs that touch. You don’t automatically have a thigh gap if you’re slim.

Mine aren’t super slim because I do loads of squats and lunges in my hiit classes. They do look bloody good though! Personally I look better with a decent coating of muscle on them.

@ginandwineandbaileys - I didn’t realise that those slim of thigh could also get chub rub and I also never thought of chafing being associated with the size of your hips as well as thighs - obviously makes perfect sense but it had just never occurred to me!

@ginandwineandbaileys

I forgot to say, that I still get chub rub with my thighs being 20 - 21 inches. I have narrow hips. I don't know anyone who doesn't have this problem, except children

I don't, but I have HUGE hips....

The only benefit of this is that I could pop two babies out fairly fast. Smile

@Sciics - yes, mine definitely need toning! Think I’ll borrow DS’s weights.

I also have never measured my thighs....

Mine are also different. 21 on the right and 21.5 on the left. I thought my right side was dominant so now I'm more baffled.

Me too! I’m 5ft 3 and my thighs are 23.5 and 24 inches.

I’ve just started SW as I want to lose 20lbs

Curiosity got the better of me and I just went and measured! Both are 22 inches, which makes me feel bit better actually as maybe it's more my hips widening for pregnancy that's making me feel like they are huge!

I don't even dare measure mine. I'm not sure why but I'm always the most paranoid about my thighs and them getting chunky. Normally I have a little gap inbetween them so I know when I've gained as they start to touch. Currently touching now at 20 weeks pregnant so they are feeling massive to me!

My right thigh is 21 inches and my left thigh is 20.5 inches. I used to have a one inch difference m but doing unilateral weightraining exercises (lunges, squats) has evened things out. I'm 5 ft 5, weigh 9.5 stones, and weight train, at home at the moment.

stampsurprise · 11/02/2021 14:29

19 and 20 inches. 5 feet 10.5 inches. Weight about 10 stone I think but it’s a long time since I was on a scale.

Thighs Flabby as hell though as I don’t exercise apart from walking dog Grin
