@Detroitdarkcafe

The masks need to be worn by everyone. No matter what. Noone has the right to transmit disease. Not even ignorant rednecks

But not everyone can wear one and that's why we have exemptions in the UK. I believe you do in America, too. Under UK law those who cannot wear a mask absolutely do have the right not to wear one.

Rape survivors, those with trigeminal neuralgia, PTSD, learning disabilities, autism etc aren't 'ignorant rednecks'. Please don't be so ignorant and inflammatory.

@madcatladyforever
Yes, I had to wear one on the plane yesterday.
Forgot to wash it the night before
God knows what I was breathing over Other people . Especially when I had a bit of a nosebleed and some old got into the mask.
I dread to think.

I work in the NHS and wear a mask and a visor because it seems 100% of the population is Mr Potato head and can't put a mask on properly.
i had someone with a paper mask on the other day that was absolutely filthy with mud, I just said you may as well take that off it's useless.

People who are exempt will not be wearing a mask.
People who are not exempt should be wearing them properly.

When I see people doing this, I walk behind them and cough loudly at their back, then keep walking so they can't see my (properly worn) mask.

I don't think it has any effect, but it makes me feel better.

@Toscata Are you being serious?

So your problem with people not wearing masks properly is not about them spreading germs, but more that they're not following "the rules" and you've taken it upon yourself to try and enforce them in the most idiptic way.

Your ugly noses could kill other people. They are deadly disease spreaders. I will not be silent when non mask wearers are risking my life.

Even if the 'ugly nose' owners are rape survivors? Are autistic? Have learning disabilities?

You sound just as ignorant and aggressive as a lot of the Trump fans you claim to abhor, tbh.

In the USA non mask wearing is a political statement in favor of Trumpy. It's the same as gun carrying, another deadly insistence. Ignorant, red neck and uncaring about others, and also probably infected.

Maybe the people with noses out, are actually exempt but are half wearing them so jumped up little smunts Like some of the entitled people on here Will leave them alone.

Most likely they're just ignorant.

I quite agree
Who are these awful people who have promoted themselves to the role of mask police

They are breaking the 2010 equality act.

I hope they have a go at someone like me because they will get it with both barrels....and I won’t pause for breath
Just who do they think are ?
Snitchers and curtain twitchers ..can’t stand them
.they’ll be first for the tumbrils and Madame la guillotine come the revolution 😂

It's annoying, but I hope people don't go around shouting at people.

My mum has dementia and you'd never think it. It's confusing for her to get the mask on with her glasses, but she tries.

Visual perception is also affected with dementia, made worse by wearing a mask. She often ends up with it only over her mouth, and I'm not going to add to her confusion by insisting. She's trying, which is more than a lot of people.

I'd have plenty to say if someone shouted at her!

Has anyone noticed that it tends to be people with big noses that do this?
Or maybe doing it makes their noses look big.

Ds pointed this out one day, and now I've never been able to unthink it. Grin

I don't say anything to anyone about masks as I assume they had their reasons. I was in the supermarket last night and someone was walking about carrying their mask... I have no idea why you would have one if you weren't going to wear it...

When there's a deadly disease going round, a mask wearer has the right to tell a maskless person to put one on

No you don't.

Leave the policing to the police and leave those who are exempt in peace.

I'll tell people their mask has slipped. Seeing noses at all disgusts me. The plastic face shield wearers give me the rage, especially the shields that are like a tiny band round the lower face. They do nothing. The wearers look so smug, like they know they are just
giving a huge fuck you to everyone. When there's a deadly disease going round, a
mask wearer has the right to tell a maskless person to put one on. I don't do it because I dont want to to get physically attacked by a trump supporter. Like I absolutely had the right to tell the finger licker veggie squeezer he was disgusting. httpsww.amazon.com/Transparent-Sanitary-Reusable-Restaurant-Protection/dp/B08BR4G6G7?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

DH was on bus the other day and a fight broke out after last wearing mask asked another lady why she wasn't wearing one and got spat on for asking, mask lady punched her in the head and it all kicked off, bus driver had to call the police and get everyone off the bus, some people are scum!

Spitting/kicking off is completely unacceptable. I hope the lady was reprimanded, there's absolutely no excuse for violence. However asking a stranger why they're not wearing a mask is also unacceptable, unless you're a police officer and it's your job to do so.

You actually cough on people during a pandemic? And you've got the brass neck to criticise others?

Unbelievable.

When you work in retail you can change mask when it is quiet.
You only have to wear them while shopping, for crap you dont need, and most of you can't even manage that.

To be fair, shop assistant are one of the main culprits.

Most people are wearing them and wearing them correctly. Some people aren't or aren't wearing them properly. Not worth the headspace worrying about it.

If people aren't wearing a mask, I think they are either exempt or shits. However for the below the nose brigade either wear it properly or not at all. It's that 'I'll put it on but not wear it properly' set that annoys me.

I saw a woman on the tube ask another woman to wear her mask properly, she did but 2 minutes later it was below her nose again.
