Hi
I've seen a few threads recently about how shit the job market is atm.. I'm sure it probably isn't new to many but I work in the NHS ( not clinical) and jobs are coming up across so many bands from 22k -80k+!
They don't always show up via linked in etc but always cone up on TRAC or www.jobs.nhs.uk/
Just sharing in case it helps someone.

The Home Office has a lot of vacancies at the moment, a friend said the ministry of justice is similar. Brexit/Coronavirus has made a lot of civil service jobs pop up

@fussygalore118 you're probably right. I enjoyed working there FWIW so maybe I will give it another go.

I can imagine London is incredibly difficult on the job front.
I'm in Wales, and there are a lot coming up every week.... not great for London guys tho. Although the way remote working is going.....

Thats interesting OP. I have been applying for jobs in London and yes have seen a few NHS admin roles. I have applied for a few that I've been qualified for but haven't heard anything back, I think it is very competitive in London at the moment

I saw 3 jobs on Indeed that had had 500, 800 and 2,000 applications Shock

@Dogneedsbrushing

Thanks OP. How much experience do you need for admin jobs?

They are all a little different, band 2 not a lot tbh. Worth looking at some JDs and person specs to get a good idea.

Its ridiculous. Seen some asking for a masters yet only offering NMW.

Thanks for posting I applied for one I think it was offered internally. I am getting fed up of the overbearing application forms. When you apply for so many and get nowhere it is hideous.

I've only applies for two, one was unsuccessful (I'm sure it was internal) and the second one got changed from permanent to fixes term (and PT). I'll apply for another one I saw and see what happens. I'm employed ATM so it's not urgent , but I'd love to change jobs.

Yes I recently got made redundant and was terrified. Spent a week applying for loads of jobs. Got a phone call for an interview the next day, offered the job and that was that. Since then nearly every one of the applications I made have come back to me to organise interviews. So there are a lot of jobs out there, saw hundreds advertised.
But I am only looking for admin roles and moved sector from finance as I felt that was too risky at the minute. I think if you are earning a lot and need to look for jobs with a high wage to sustain your lifestyle it wouldn't be as easy.

@KenAdams

We've been out to recruit for lots of roles recently (public sector) but we've had hardly any interest unfortunately.

Similar story here. We've had a few roles go out with very little interest, despite decent salary and expectations on experience etc

@EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire

I got sacked from the NHS for being ill so I think I will give it a miss thanks.

Thats a shame. I've worked for the NHS for nearly 20 years and found them nothing but supportive for colleagues who have been unwell.

Every Trust is different though im sure.
