Here we go you lovely lot, Thread 11.

Post some lyrics of a song 70s, 80s, 90s (boundaries may be slightly pushed either way). State the decade & we will try to guess Artist(s) and song.

Because you'll find out that we come in different shapes and sizes
90s (just)"

Wow SimplySteve. I’d never say you lacked vocabulary or eloquence, quite the opposite. You sound like you’ve had a tough time lately. Nice to see you again. I love how we really get to know each other on here.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 06/09/2020 22:40

Well done @Honeyroar, you made it!

Everybody's got a place to be
I got holes in my conscience
Shot with a vengeance
I must have been a fool not to see
1980s

You turned night into day
And showed me how my soul could sing
You took my hurt away
And showed me love conquers anything
1980s

For @singingbabooshka

Stick or twist
The choice is yours
Hit or miss
What’s mine is yours

@coffee I found it! But the tag didn’t do anything. Must be my phone, I’m sure!

Honeyroar · 06/09/2020 22:56

Steve Winwood - Holding on?

Honeyroar · 06/09/2020 22:59

Where’s my wife and family
What if I die here?
(80s)

OfficiallAnAwardWinningPoster · 06/09/2020 23:00

The second one is the cure, coffee. Cant think which song. Give me a sec...

Is it the voice?

OfficiallAnAwardWinningPoster · 06/09/2020 23:01

Actually, I think that's wrong. Scrap that last guess

OfficiallAnAwardWinningPoster · 06/09/2020 23:02

CoffeeBeansGalore · 06/09/2020 23:10

@Honeyroar You can call me Al, Paul Simon

OP posts:
OfficiallAnAwardWinningPoster · 06/09/2020 23:10

I got it confused in my mind with "I kissed you in the water, and made your dry lips sing". My bad!

Honeyroar · 06/09/2020 23:12

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for
(80s?)

Honeyroar · 06/09/2020 23:13

Yes Call me Al.
Kissed you in the water is The Walk, not the Voice. 😱 You can’t get that group wrong on here!

Fleamaker123 · 06/09/2020 23:20

Evening! Just checking in 👍
SimplySteveRedux sorry you've had a rough time. It's fascinating though hearing about everyone on here.

Daffodil1967 · 06/09/2020 23:27

Talking Heads but can’t remember name of song.

Who sings songs for the lost and the lonely?
( late 1970’s)

OfficiallAnAwardWinningPoster · 06/09/2020 23:30

some songs which start with spoken words (not a lyric, a clue to what's coming).

what we've got here is... failure to communicate...

Some men you just can't reach.
So you get what we had here last week, which is hte way he wants.
Well he gets it.
I don't like it any more than you, man

I thought 80s, google says 90s. Not a genre most of you like, but it fits with my theme (sorry). Bonus point if you get the original source, which I only just discovered tonight and gave me the idea for this theme.

Just what is it that you want to do?
We want to be free. We want to be free to do what we want to do.

90s

You are not a god
Why don't you pull the trigger and find out?

90s (just)

Dearly Beloved
We are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.
Eletcric word, life.

It means forever, and that's a mighty long time

80s (RIP Sad)

Mm--"Is she really going out with him?
"Well, there she is, Let's ask her"
"Betty, is that Jimmy's ring you're wearing?"
"Mm-hm"
"Gee, it must be great riding with him"
"Is he picking you up after school today?"
"Mm-mm"
"By the way, where did you meet him?"

60s

Daffodil1967 · 06/09/2020 23:30

xsquared · 06/09/2020 23:35

Too slow!

Honeyroar · 06/09/2020 23:36

90s one is Primal Scream’s Loaded (with an incredibly sexy “oh yeah” in the middle). Don’t know the original film it was taken from, but it was in Bridget Jones too!

Let’s go crazy by Prince.

Can’t remember what else there was!
